Hi all.
My labrador has a bald patch on his tail. My vet said it was stud tail and as long as it was not infected not to worry.
It has been a year now and his tail is not a problem apart from the bald patch.
Is there anything I can use to encourage the hair to grow back? tia

How old is your dog, both of my EBT have had stud tail .Dogs have large scent glands in their tails and some end up with stud tail. Sallys had grown back by around 20 months and Liams is just starting to grow back he is 18 months old,Stud tail is nothing to worry about.:)
There is nothing you can do to encourage the hair growth it's just a case of waiting

Very common in Whippets. Nothing to worry about although not the nicest to see bald patches.

My EBT also had a bald spot on top of their heads where there is another scent gland but cover around the same time as the tail
