Daisy got bitten on monday but the wound is still bleeding/oozing is this normal? She has a largest lump near the open wound so is this the fluid leaving the lump? Also her inner thigh is very bruised and I have put arnica cream on it could this cause the bleeding further up? Sorry for being a numpty :b

I'm no expert but have you tried flushing the wound with salty water several times a day to prevent infection? Teeth bites carry a lot of germs/bacteria apparently. I wonder if there is a small infection on the wound site?

Uncle Fred sends Daisy a hug. :huggles:

:( aww poor daisy hope it heels fast sending her lot of gentle :huggles: :huggles: :luck:

I am cleaning it and she has some ABs from the vet, its mostly watery blood seeping out :(

If she is on antibiotics she should be fine Lou. Ooozing is better than building up under the skin. The fluid is the bodys natural way to flush the wound

Also another good thing to do is have a sniff of it - if there's any smell then that's not good, as it means it's infected. If no smell, I think she will be fine. Poor Daisy, give her a hug from me :huggles:

Forgot to add, Nicola's suggestion is a good one, salt water will clean, and help it to heal

Awww poor little girlie......hugs from me & Tina too :huggles:

Tina is forever picking up scrapes on her legs because she's always bombing around like a fruit loop but they generally heal up within a day or two  I keep an eye on them and don't worry too much as it's just lovely to see her running around and being a happy dog

Stupid question also, but what did she get bitten by?

If shes now on antibiotics, your vet should have all the bases covered, and do agree, if the wound is oozing and not smelling badly, then all should be well, just watch for any sudden changes and give her plenty of :huggles:

Oh good grief - sorry to hear about poor Daisy, she didnt deserve that.  Hope it doesnt put her off her agility. :(

I've not had a wound weep for so long, it must be quite deep?  Dermasol cream is great stuff for healing that sort of thing - when Vader was ran over (w00t) he was too poorly to stitch up but the dermasol cream was wonderful, he hasnt got any scars.

:huggles: to Daisy.
