Myself and Roxy have been enjoying our summer walks, the weather has been so nice (which is great for Wales!) so just thought it would be nice to share some pics with you (Nowhere fancy, just around our village) and for you all to share pics of your summer adventures too :)

Thank you @Whippylove it was on May 12th :)

Love that snap of Jasper @JudyN Roxy would never go that deep! She just dips her toes in if she needs a drink :D

That action shot of Floyd is amazing @niamh123 I love the ears! :D

To be fair, if Jasper stood up it would only come up to his ankles too - they're just further up than Roxy's :D

Awwww I wonder why his previous owners thought he didn’t like water then (unless he only ever had contact with water when he had a bath so duh of course he would appear to hate water)
Awwww, so cute that he hides when Murphy is in the pool!

We went to the newly opened Canford Park SANG yesterday, just over 4 miles from us. SANG stands for 'suitable alternative natural greenspace'. The idea is that it will draw people away from the local ecologically important nature reserves & heathland, and developing it was part of a deal with Barrett Homes who are building a new housing estate close by.

It was lovely - fields, a river, ponds, trees, loads of wild flowers, plenty of poo bins... It's large enough now for a reasonable walk, and there will be another large area opened in Phase 2. It was a golf course, only three years ago.

I was really impressed with the large enclosed dog training area - there's a sign saying that if there's a dog already in there you have to ask before going in. It will be such a boon for people with reactive dogs or those with poor recall.

Just a few photos - I need to work on my photo skills for things more than 3' from the camera!

Looks nice , I wonder if people will read and obey the signs? We have one like that on the playground near us we were there trowing a ball for the boys and some guy came strolling in with his rottie!!!

That's a good question, @Mad Murphy I'd also be concerned about people hogging it for an hour or more. Not sure it was a good idea to put an inviting bench in there!

I also thought they should enclose another large area for picnics, and say that anyone having a picnic elsewhere have only themselves to blame if a dog raids it!

Oh wow, that’s so cool :) We have nowhere like that where I live in Wales. It’s so annoying, living in Wales you’d think there’d be loads of green space to roam around but no, no dog parks, not many footpaths :( someone told me that Wales is ‘free to roam’ meaning you can walk anywhere (even farm fields/land) and the land owner can’t kick you off it. Not sure I believe this though after a bit of googling. Anyone else heard this?
