Do a search for a scanner on your area - it will cost you less. Champdogs members are often good at recommending scanners, so try there. It will not be much if you find one local to you

Ok ive asked thanks! don't know what else to do ??????????????

People in breed there dogs all the time on purpose not that i ok with it because im not but doesnt mean i need to get rid of them. I'm willing to take full responsibilty if she happens to be pregnant. It wouldnt have been intentional but these things happen. I don't really want her to have puppies as i was going to have her done now i have lui but if she is pegnant and the puppies are healthy etc im keeping them! All the same she probly isn't anyway! Thanks for your views though! I will defo think about getting her scanned!
brother and sister mating and the dog is 5 months old!! how will you taking full responsibility help possible deformed pups, if she is in pup take responsibility and get it sorted
Who are you to be telling me what to do????

What a load of bull. Your comment will be ignored,

Thanks to the people who's posts HELPED!

I do hope you can get a scan sorted ... you are probably right that she's not in pup, but if she were mine I'd want to know for sure ... that way if she displays any further symptoms - for want of a better word - you won't miss something important related to her maternal health.

I can see you have had some heartfelt replies from people concerned about the impact of a brother sister mating on the pups well being. Again chances are that if there are pups they are fine, but you need to consider what they could pass on to any future generations were they in turn to be bred from ... they could be genetic time bombs as they will have doubled up on a lot of potentially 'unhealthy' genetic material. You will not be able to register any pups from a brother sister mating with the Kennel Club so there would be no pedigrees for you to endorse ... maybe one of the many things you need to be thinking about.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you would be able to cope with these pups (if indeed there are pups) ... if you are so concerned about the cost of a scan are you prepared for how much raising a litter will cost. Just thinking that the sooner you know if you have a problem the sooner you will be able to sort out the necessary purchases/loans of equipment etc.

Still, hopefully all the above is unnecessary advice and she is just suffering with her hormones poor lamb.

Whats the latest on little pickle? Have you managed to find out anything?

I couldnt register the puppies anyway as she a cross breed? I'm interested in having kc puppies anyway. If she pregnant i will look after the puppies no matter how much it costs. I was just not wanting to pay out for something they may not even be true. But i might have to soon.

pickles fine thanks fiona s. She's still acting strange and i have tried to get hold of a scanner as my friend has one but it's a sound one not vision. bit tricky as i wouldnt know what im listening for???? I think im just going to have to book her in at vets soon. x x x

What i do with my dog has nothing to do with this subject or you for that matter! Just because i put an advert up to stud my dog doesn't mean i'm "pimping him out for cash" He rather gets used or neutered simple! I hope my bitch is ok hence this post and your not helping by posting horrible things on the thread!

On another note pickle is going to be scanned this week!

Hope the scan shows no pups :luck: I'm confused though (easily done) ... you 'studding' your boy? ... I thought he was only 5 or 6 mths old?

Yeah not now ........end of 2010. Just thought id advertise to see if i get any interest if not ill neuter him. No point keeping him entire if hes not being used it's unfair. And it's not to make money becoz the add says free of charge! And also that id take responsibilty for the puppies etc. x

What interest do you expect to get if you don't mind me asking. Most people choose a stud on the basis of, at the very least, conformation as an adult, but most commonly also with regard to achievement, e.g. proven worker, courser, show dog, what ever. Pedigree/breeding alone doesn't usually cut it and personally I'd be worried if it did. How can any one know now whether they might wish to use your dog at a later date ... he is way to young for his qualities in any respect to be clear. If you do think he will prove to be a desirable stud dog why not wait to neuter until you have given him a chance to show what he can do?

Don't see why you would be intending to use a dog which is a crossbreed at stud ?

What would you be hoping to achieve ?

 Dee, I know this is a simplistic view, but perfectly healthy dogs up and down the country are being put to sleep because there aren't enough homes for them. Scores of lovely dogs, every day. We are in a recession. If you can't afford to scan Pickle, how will you be responsible for the pups? If your dog sires four pups, that could be four other dogs who don't get a home. You may find good new owners but you can't be sure. Why do you feel the need to stud him at all? And I bet good money you would keep one of his pups because you wouldn't be able to help yourself, and do the same again with that one. I've got two fantastic KC reg male whippets with a great pedigree and superb temperaments and health. But I put my own feelings of wanting their pups aside and looked at the bigger picture...and even though I've been asked to stud them, I said no. I'd be too worried about adding to the problem.

I think the key word is responsibility. Genuine accidents are one thing, but deliberately advertising is something else. If the right people really want your dog at stud, THEY would find YOU, based on your dog's achievements, without you needing to advertise.

All this amazes me. It is so wrong to advertise an under year old dog at stud, a crossbreed at that. It is so irresponsible. I sincerely hope Pickle is not in whelp.

My main worry is what the motives would be of anyone for looking for a free crossbreed stud with no proven working/coursing ability. I can't see why this would appeal to anyone who wasn't breeding purely for profit.

I'm also puzzled why it would be 'unfair' not to stud him if he's not neutered, do you feel all entire dogs should be allowed to mate and will be unhappy if they don't experience sex a few times?

It's all well and good to say you would take responsibility for any puppies he sired, but what would that mean in reality?
