Hi, just wondered if anyone has any experience of the Tardak injection? It is supposed to mimic the effects of neutering.
Reason being that our 2 year old boy has been experiencing normal boy behaviour for a while but it is getting much worse. He humps anything he can get his paws on in the house, tries to hump every female dog he meets, wanders aimlessley around the house, barks and seems really unsettled. On a walk we cannot walk more than 10 steps without him peeing on something and is obsessed with other dogs wee. He has been a bit agressive towards a couple of other male dogs which is WAY out of character for him as he has such a sweet nature.
We have tried all ways to stop him doing this and tried being more dominant with him but nothing seems to work and he is starting to run off when we are out which he never did before and which is really worrying.
Anyway, he just seems frustrated and a bit unhappy and we want to help him and looking around the internet it seems that neutering may help him with his urges. But I do not want to put him through an operation if it will not help him so I heard about this injection that supposedly can test to see if neutering would help but then I am just as worried about this as I am not sure whether it would have side effects.
Does this behaviour only last a short amount of time and then settle down on its own?
Any ideas would be most welcome?
Thanks
Lisa
