Teasel attended her first puppy class tonight, we were so so nervous  we almost chickened out and left it until next week as we'd both had such bad days in work :( but at the last minute we jumped in the car and headed off :D

We arrived to an empty car park as we'd got there 15 minutes early  eventually a lady turned up with a Blue Merle Border Collie who was a bit mad (the collie not the lady  )

Just as we were getting worried that it was a VERY!! small class  a whole host of puppies started arriving  so we had Merlin the collie, Drummer the black Lab, Oscar the Border Terrier, Lottie the Miniature Yorkshire Terrier, Mabel the Springer Spaniel, Floyd the English Bull Terrier and a wee little Whippet named Teasel :D

So we all stood in a line with Teasel and me last in line, one by one we had to walk around the hall trying to get our dogs to walk to heel  At this point I was quite nervous as we havn't done any heel work

As we were last in line we got to watch everyone else and get more and more nervous  I shouldn't have been nervous though as she was an absolute angel o:) and trotted around like she'd been born to it :D

After a few more turns around the hall and some sit and stays :) the final excercise was recall where the trainer held the lead while you ran away calling your dog then when it got to you try to make them sit

Not only did she come flying straight to me she sat instantly as well o:)

We can't believe how well she did :D so after being so nervous about it tonight we now can't wait until next week :D

Cheers

Steve

Good for you Steve  It is worth the effort, especially when you have had a bad day at work. It makes that bad day disappear. Beau and I have been going to class on a Thursday night all of this year. We started in Baby Puppy, went onto Puppy class. He is such a good little dog we skipped Level One and went straight into Level 2. Last night he passed his Canine Good Citizen. Beau is only 10.5 months old. We haven't missed a single class and have met some lovely people and dogs along the way. I now have a dog who is a joy to live with :)

Keep up the good work, you will never regret the time spent.

Well done Teasel  Such an angel o:)

Well done Beau too

I hope it wasnt just a fluke Steve and that she is top of the class next week too :D

What a little angel, I bet she made you feel really proud
