Thanks so much for everyones response. I feel more at ease now. He is such a strange little puppy. I take him out ALL day long and he understands the concept but he was having a hard time with puppy foods (diahrea) so I put him on the special sensitive stomach food which solved the problem but started a new problem with the farting. I'm slowly trying to get him over to another 100% natural, all meat food. It seems like when his stomach is sensitive is when he has accidents in the house...plus he eats poop :x which is really disturbing and we are working hard to correct that. Yuck! I adopted a pup from the US which was supposed to be a whippet mix (NOT EVEN CLOSE!) She is a plott hound and a real beauty. She is doing great on the food. He isn't nervous with my other dogs...he is actually very dominant. I guess I'll just keep telling him to PEEPEE outside and hopefully one day he'll calm down a bit. I noticed he chewed the corner off my dresser today. Nice!! Just have to laugh.

Have you been in touch with the breeder of your puppy? Did they give you feeding instructions? Puppies' tummy is easy to upset and it is best to feed whatever they were fed before you get them. There are also many different bugs that can give young puppy diarrhea, if that is the case your puppy may require a medication. What ever treatment he needs pro-biotic yogurt will help to restore the balance in his digestive system. :luck:

The white dog is one of my rescue dogs that I've had for 3 years. her name is Abbey and she is supposed to be a Greyhound Husky mix. Shape of a greyhound but long hair. The other is my new rescue (all the way from Kentuky)...she is a Plott hound that was most likely thrown from a car as a pup, had a shattered hip and almost starved to death (they had never seen a dog so thin). As a pup they thought she was a whippet or greyhound mix but she is actually a Plott Hound and she is fantastic. She doesn't even have a limp anymore, she is now around 5.5 months old and is up to 26 lbs and still growing fast. We named her Kiera.

Our whippet is Tristan and we also have a chihuahua named boomer.

Your dogs are all lovely :huggles: That is fantastic that you rescued your Plott hound all the way from Kentucky, it is nice that such a sad story had a really happy ending :)

Interesting to hear about your dogs. Especially your 'Plott' hound from Kentucky. And, what is a Plott hound exactly? She is cute. Are you in the US then, whereabouts do you live?

I live in British Columbia Canada. I had to fly the plott hound to Seattle Washington and drive down there to pick her up. It was a long journey but she is so happy now. Plott hounds are an american hound, the only hound with no British background. They are similar to other hunting hounds. I guess it was lucky that someone made a mistake and marked her as a whippet mix otherwise I would never have seen her. She should grow to about 55 lbs. They have velvet soft hair, brindle in color and HUGE ears. They are a very solid dog.

I have a GSD who has always eaten her own poo :x

I've done a bit of research and the condition is called Corophagia. It becomes a "habit" which normally starts in very early life.

It seems that the dog gets a "fix" from doing this and it can become an obsession - my GSD even used to wait behind my other dogs whilst they were pooing so that she could get in straight away - YUK YUK YUK (w00t) (w00t)

She's 3 now and not as bad anymore but I still see her occasionally having a sneaky snack :x
