Lovley photos of blue whippets

Blue is one of my absolute favorites in the whippet colours. My hope is to one day own a show quality blue again.

Here is my late Tuffy (Ch. Dusilla Blue Taffeta):

I certainly love the solid blue, although in Whippet my favorite is blue fawn.

This was my puppy almost 30 years ago - not quite a Whippet :)

Lana,

I remember Bobby and know of how you came to take him and your hopes to breed black and whites. It truely is a beautiful combination.

I also know how hard it is to win with a Black & White as I'm sure you witnessed many times when I was showing Rommie. I know first hand how dishearting it can be to enter the ring and have a judge straight away disregard your dog because of the colour. His conformation and movement was outstanding and for him to lose to dogs that limped or had pricked ears and other major faults was down right degrading. So I can understand your first boy's breeder saying the comment of ÿou'll never win with a black & white". But boy when Rommie did have a win I treasured it.

It is nearly a year since Rommie passed away and everyday I think of my sweet boy, New Years Eve running around the ring with his daughter (blue) she moved just as he did and my heart skipped a beat as it almost felt like he was on the end of the lead. All I need to do now is get her to behave on the table. Hopefully that will be soon :D Will have to have a drink that day

I too hope that that the trend is turning and that judges won't judge whippets by their colour but by the standard as I hope to own another B&W soon. Just have to educate these judges that whippets can be of any colour and I'm sure the dedicated few (like yourself) will make sure it happens.

I didn't know I liked the Blues until I started seeing the photos of all the gorgeous dogs on this forum. Now that is one of my favorite colors!

My first whippet was really unusual... she was an agouti fawn. I loved her color... like a deer or rabbit with each hair being multicolored. I have not seen a whippet like her since. :(

He does look like a cracker! Got any more pics of him - from more side-on? What's his breeding?

couldn't resist posting this pic of my old lad Alf and his daughter Tamara

Have to agree with Lana, the little lurcher pup  is a darling

My first love wasn't black (had some very negative feelings about it) but it is now my absolute favorite. As a 'side effect' from breeding for black I've gotten some blues and the colour is starting to grow on me :p
