I got a call today from the man at the wildlife centre. He was on his way back to the park with the heron we rescued from the ice last week.

The heron is now feeding for himself so is ok to be released again.

Unfortunately I was on my way to work when he phoned so wasn't able to go & watch the release so I havn't got any photos :(

Maybe I'll recognise him if I see him on the river again

So a happy ending :D :D

Well done for helping him. Nice to hear a happy ending.

Oh Im so glad JT, what a good job you did... shame about the photos

but what a great ending...well done.

Well it was Martin who did all the hard work with him but if we hadn't spotted him..... :(

There is another little bit of good news come out of this too, when we were walking back with the heron we were just chatting, I got my ferrets from Martin so were talking about them. One of the council men who helped said there was a notice up in the park about a lost ferret wearing a collar & harness.

Martin said he'd had one handed in from this area....wearing a collar & harness

What a coincidence, of course it has to be the same one.

ferret & owner are now reunited so TWO happy endings for the price of one :)

Aw..glad it was a happy ending in both cases.
