well I am new to this site ,not long here and not long b4 I am gone either ,I keep reading through the thread and for the life of me cant see why daffydill had a pop at mark

you know i couldnt of worded it better,problem with a few on here is they know feck all about working lurchers,matter of fact they know feck all about lurchers the 2 who spoilt youre thread one is a child the other a 46 yr old women who has approx 4 dogs 2 whippets what she tells us dogmen are lurchers 1 whippet greyhound what is 1/15 whippet 15/16th greyhound and another whippet greyhound ????????not a ONE HAVE SEEN A RABBIT AND SHE HATES LOSSIN TO WORKIN DOGS ITS NOT THE DOG ITS THE PERSON WHO BRINGS IT ON AS MUCH AND FACE IT WHY THESE PEOPLE HAVE LURCHERS THEY WILL BE NO GOOD AND I WILL SHOW HER THAT AT SALEMshameless52 said:

I think some people are just too quick to try and put others down. My dogs don't work but I do appreciate a fit, healthy dog that is fit for more than parading around the local park.
I have a (presumed) bull cross lurcher and a whippet. I recently met a guy who had a saluki/greyhound cross who told me he'd had three lurchers over the years and basically thought he knew all about them. He then proceeded to tell me that mine was too small and tubby!!!! My dog is pure muscle! He was basing his observation on his preconception as to what a lurcher 'should' look like. For example on another forum recently someone posted that all lurchers HAD to be hairy, there are a LOT of ignorant people out there. At least I try to keep up with what real lurcher owners think. Maybe people need to be a bit more open minded.
