Just realised I've not posted about our lurchery lot! We have 14 hounds here in total at the moment (including Molly the whippet, 2 whippet crosses and 5 earmarked greyhounds) but for now here's the lurchers:

Jonathan:

....and yes, he has a front leg missing - he was found as a stray with a very badly broken leg that couldn't be saved. He's mainly greyhound, not sure what else is in there though, aged around 4 years we think

Storm:

another amputee - still looking for a home after being here for over a year :(

He's a greyhound/staffie cross, aged 3 years.

Tess:

She's a greyhound/bedlington cross, aged over 9 years and has fits occaisionally. Tess is unlikely to find a home now, having been with us for over a year and because she is a bit 'odd' so she's one of our 'sponsor' hounds.

The [in-]famous Henry:

looks like a greyhound but technically a lurcher as he's not earmarked, he came in last year after he'd been dumped at a vets in a severely emaciated state. He's over 9 years old and a wonderful old character with no bark...he has laryngeal paralysis.

Dylan:

Dyl came in from Ireland where he'd been found dumped in a ditch and left to die, suffering from severe mange. Against all odds he pulled through and we offered to take him when no other rescue place could be found for him. As far as we can tell he's probably a whippet/bedlington cross with greyhound....or we prefer to describe him as an orange fluffball

This was him when he first came in last July:

and last but by no means least, the wonderful Silver:

He's a greyhound/GSD cross who we adopted from the RSPCA almost 2 years ago - he was due to be PTS as he was failing badly in kennels and nobody wanted him. He was a cruelty case and had a few 'issues' that we helped him get over (mostly). Silver is around 11-12 years old and he will break my heart when we lose him :'(

edited to add Silver's favorite sleeping position:

So that's our lurchery-lot, hope you like them ;)

Beautiful pics .... ooooooh Tess is beautiful, she has such a lovely face ...

Keep 'em coming :D

What an absolutely gorgeous gang you have, Jules. They are all lovely. Jonathan looks such a sweetie.

I can't understand how someone could live with themselves after having dumped your "orange fluffball" in a ditch and left him to die :( but then I have a cat who came from the same situation, although some monster was unpleasant enough to put her and her mother and the rest of the litter of kittens into a black sack first and tie the top then throw it in a ditch  Phoebe was one of the few who made it out alive, and that was just luck and a passer-by noticing the bag moving.

Wow, your dogs all look special. Silver looks very dignified and it is lovely that he ill see his says out in your warm and caring home :huggles:

I luv Dylan and of course Jonathan. My fav colours.

I met one of your ex's yesterday at lure coursing. An almost pure white whippet bitch. She's got a black ear. The woman (don't know her name) adopted her last August. She's the picture of health and really had a great day. Her owner adores her.

What absolutely gorgous dogs you have, Jules!

Dylan has completely stolen my heart, he reminds me of a dog I had years ago, Alfie, who had been thrown in the canal and my OH rescued and presented to me when I returned from a night out with the girls - he was wonderful with me and those he loved, but unfortunately came to a sad end as he was totally untrustworthy with people he didn't know :( :( I will never forget him.  :huggles:

You do a wonderful job, and your dogs look so happy - well done you

They are so lovely   thank god for people like you to make up for the horrible people of this world

The 'orange fluffball' has won my heart! lol  They are all lovely and a credit to you

They are a lovely gang Jules- good on you for taking in these 'special needs' dogs.

OOOOHHH Dylan and Silver are sweethearts!!

Liz and the Monellis

Liz I reckon that Nellie probably looked like the orange fluff ball when she was a pup.

Was that Nan? She belongs to Olivia, who lives just down the road from us and walks with ours. She's is planning to join k9, seemed a really nice lady. Nan did very well in the coursing didn't she, I think she got well into the 70s too

If Olivia has also got a black whippet then yes that's her.

Sorry Jules. I've got all mixed up with the rescues. Nan came from Sheya.

As soon as I started to read your greyhound thread I realised. It's your names Jules/Julie.
