I went out to go to work at 6.40 this morning to find the front passenger window smashed in my car and my CD player stolen. It was one of those that has a screen and plays DVD's as well. The cars only been parked on the road for a few weeks as We are selling OH'S car and as it has no tax or insurance it is on the drive.

I phoned the police and now am waiting for a scene of crime officer to come to look at it as the CD player has not been ripped out it has been unscewed and all the wires carfully disconected.

The cheeky sods even locked the car back up after they'd finished

I hope they find who did it. Sorry you had to have such an experience. :(

that happened to us only a month ago, they came fully equipet to brake the window, by jaming a screw driver in the side of it and bening it, (it shatters the hole window) they never unlocked the doors and didnt even get in the car did it all from hanging in the window, unscrewed everything and carfully disconected everything. it makes you so mad

police came couldnt get a finger print and as there was no whitnessess they've found nothing.

£350 dvd sterieo and £200 sat nav

hope they have better luck with you :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Thanks Keith just waiting for the police to arrive then ring the insurance tehn hopefully OH can take it to be fixed and I can go back to work

Katie thats how they got into my car a screwdriver up the side of the window but the door wasn't shut properly so I know they opened it and they've been rummaging on the back seat .Not that they'd have found much other than bags of dog blankets

Well the police have just been .

Some ones had a busy night 3 cars in our area all the same thing. We've now got to wait for the forensics people to come to try to take finger prints of my car. They've been to one of the others and couldn't get anything.

Don't think I'm going to get to work today as they are coming to replace the window this afternoon too

Sorry to hear this. :(

A very kind oik decided to run a sharp object down the side of my car yesterday, and all the cars parked along our road. I've a really big scratch running the length of the car now.

Car thieves and vandals......

Thanks Keith I've ended up having to have the day of work.By the time the police had arrived and then the forensics people. Apparently there were 3 cars all done the same in the area the police think its the same people so they need finger prints. The first car hadn't got any but they'd pulled some envelopes out of the glove compartment in my car and they are hopeful they may get something of them and they needed me there to see if anything that shouldn't be there was in my car. I'm now waiting for autoglass to come and replace the window then I'll be happy I've been watching out of the window all day to make sure no one messes with it.

The good thing is if there is one is the fact that people who we don't normally have anything to do with have been knocking on the door to tell us the car has been broken into they know the car and who it belongs to even if they don't really speak other than to say hello

sorry to hear what's happened to you all (cars vandalised and broken into etc).

They're a bloody nuisance to say the least. I don't think there is a car along our road that hasn't been deliberately damaged at some time or other ... we had our car broken into years ago when we first moved into this house, they didn't even care that the 2 child seats in the back were covered in the glass they broke.

They make me sick.
