Please let me know if there is anything else that I should have done.

The story (sorry if it starts to get too long!) started with a telephone call from a good friend who had found a puppy that had falled out of a second floor window of a block of flats, about 10 mins away from me. (Some people had seen the puppy fall from an open window and it seems the window had been left open due to the extreme heatwave that we had last week. The people also told my friend that they had heard the puppy yap and bark all day, every day for sometime. The owners left in the morning and did not return until the late evening.)

Anyway I asked my friend to check the pup's gums and they were pure white, the pure mite was not moving or anything at all!! So immediately telephoned my vets and told them the story and they said - just bring it in! My friend did that and passed all the details over to the vet as to the owner's name etc!

To date all we know is that the puppy was kept in for observation and was being x-rayed the following day. I am so worried that it might have terrible internal injuries.

I told my friend to contact the SSPCA (Scottish version of the RSPCA) which she did as we do not know if the vet would.

Apart from   the git   who left the wee thing in the flat all day, if there anything else that we should do?? The pup was only four months old!!

 Why leave a window open with a small pup running about!!

 Why not check on it - we do not leave our dogs more that three hours on their own and they are crated!

So sorry for ranting but I am so so pi$$ed off with people like this!!!

Hi

I cant believe that people can do the things they do sometimes, have you tried contacting the vets to see what happend to the poor pup. At least that way you will now if its ok.

Simon

I dont know how some one can leave a pup by itself all day with no supervision

I wonder what state the flat must be in pups can't hold it that long. (w00t)

People make SICK    . Hope fully the poor wee thing will be alright and at least can be re-homed with some-one who will care for it. (Surely the SSPC will make them sign it over.) Do let us know when you get more news.

Disgusting how someone can leave a pup on its own  - poor love. :(

Hope it makes a full recovery and gets a better home ......

THAN THE ONE ITS IN AT THE MOMENT.

Lets hope its good news when you receive the call you are waiting for. :luck: :luck:

Do the owners of the puppy know what has happened to it? I would be most interested to see their  response. The first concern would almost certainly be cost!! They sound that type.

Thank goodness you acted so quickly, otherwise the poor little thing would probably be dead by now.

Keep us informed.

:( Poor wee puppy :(

I never have the windows open upstaris, unless they have the lock on  , Gary has been known to try to open them wider, but can't and Robbie when he was a little pup tried to jump at a fly and banged his head into the window's glass :clown: Hope the puppy is on the mend and gets a nice new owner to love it to bits

Poor little puppy :( , when ours was that little I only ever left her for an hour, poor little thing, and well done you for dealing with it  .

I hope puppy is ok. What type was is ?

well we dont know the facts yet.they might love that puppy to bits.i had a friend whose 2 yr old daughter was half way out of the bedroom wiondow beffore she found out and managed to drag her back.lets reserve judgement till we know all the facts eh folks?

I think you did the right thing :)) , good for you at least you care.

Have found out that the puppy suffered nothing more than bruising :- " .

But it has been returned to it's owners. :(

As Kris has said we do not know the facts, but I will still check with the SSPCA officer who lives near by and see what is going on????

Thanks for all your comments.

Still not happy about a puppy being left in all day crying on it's own, and like you said in that heat  there's some d***heads about!

Still least it's ok, might be a wakeup call for the owners with a bit of luck!

Well, Fi is calling around to the owner's on Friday to see if she can get the full(ish) story??

Still so annoyed  I would not think of leaving either of the pups alone for that long with the heat!!! Even if it meant a neighbour or one of the outlaws popping in to check on them.....

well im glad the puppy is ok. thats good news. :) we cant all live in houses with gardens and we cant all stay at home all day.personally i would never sell a pup to a home where the owners are out at work all day.how will they feed the pup, housetrain it etc?but i think each case should be judged on its individual merits.we cant condemn someone cos they arent at home to look after the pup.its not an ideal situation but what is?if the pup was say taken in from an rspca centre where its 7 days were up then id say ok this situation isnt the best in the world, but its better than a needle in the leg.and like i say the owners might love this pup and have received a big shock from whats happened.lets hope so.

Yes, i think we should not judge people unless we know ALL the facts. These people probably did not realise the puppy, being so tiny, could get up on the window.

Maybe somebody comes home during the day for a little while..

I am glad the pup is OK
