does any one else's dog have a obsession about flies?,Tia spends ages trying to catch them, nearly knocked her self out twice!!!! she tries to creep up on them to no avail, i'm worn out watching her, she even does it on her walks, she is on one of her missions now, into the hall back to the kitchen back to the hall up the stairs down the stairs back to the kitchen!!!! (w00t) by the way she has never caught one

both of mine :D dante dashes all over the place trying to catch them, but hasnt caught a single one yet

amber on the other hand is very good at getting the little critters. all she does is stands still, only following them with her eyes, then, as soon as one gets close enough.....SNAP! she actively enjoys the taste of them :x she used to eat spiders too, until a wolf spider bit her when she had it in her mouth >_<

mad dog. Jazz likes the hoverfies in the garden, but she's yet to grab one.

Also, she's mad about birds, planes & helicopters. When she was a puppy she used to race across the fields thinking she could catch something flying at 12000 feet !! daft bint.

Most of mine!

I did have a dog who used to imagine flies when he was in the showring. He was a toad to show anyway but there was a fly buzzing around at one show which he never forgot. I used to just get him stood and the judge would be walking down the line looking at the dogs and the little bugger would suddenly whip round snapping at the air!!! He nearly leapt on the dog in front of him at one show (w00t) :b LOL! He was so badly behaved and it always amazed me how much winning he did, even though he was a nice dog, construction and movement wise!!!

My youngster catches flies ... he is cruel tho, he caught one yesterday and nibbled it a bit, then lay and watched it, occasionally nudging it with his nose and paws. It was a bit like watching a cat tormenting something before it kills it. My older whippet snaps at them but doesn't take any prisoners.

he did eat it in the end ... yuck! :x

millie looks at them but too lazy to bother ,but phoebe is manic if she sees or hears one, most get away, some get squished between her teeth, then spat out me to get rid :x

We have a wasps nest on one side of our fence and ours love to chase and catch these. (w00t)

Daisy and Lily love to catch flies, the others are too lazy. (w00t)

Yes our boys have a go but havent got the knack yet lol Jack our last whippy was a grand master fly catcher and used to race the cat to them and moths, daddy longs legs etc etc

:)

Whizzy has a real obsession. When we are sat relaxing he will suddenly jump up and start snapping his jaws. It's really funny to watch. :D Bailey is not at all bothered

Tess is obsessed too and relatively good at catching them, OH likes to trap them in glasses and release them for her

Wonderful photos of the mad spaniel by the way Vicky

well i am glad i am not alone on this one, yes great pics of the mad spainel

My last dog did - she and the cat made a good team. The dog would follow the fly around and when it landed would point and bark at it, and the cat would take a flying leap, usually at the net curtains, and catch and eat it for her (w00t)

yes....especially casper...he throws himself all over the place like a rabid looney!!!!

he just cost me £200 in repairs to the blinds :(
