A big thank you to those who sent good wishes for Toddy's neutering operation today.

He is now back home. I think the vets were glad to see the back of him as he was missing his ladies and making sure that the vets knew it!

Everything went well, the vet did not find any obvious tumor and he seems fine. Typical whippet, he had some dinner and is now sleeping it off :)

Now the fun part will start, trying to keep him quiet and non bouncing for the next week - 10 days. This is the Todster we are talking about. Pity the vets did not give me some seddatives :D

So glad to hear your boy is back safe and sound, with a clean bill of health and only missing a couple of thingies. :p :p

If anyone does give you the secret of keeping him quiet, pass it on! :D :D Wishing Toddy a speedy recovery.

Way to go, Toddy :D

Hope he makes a speedy recovery. :luck: :luck:

As my crate (which Toddy never took to) is on loan to a friend with a new puppy, I decided that the best place for Toddy last night was in a dogbed at our bedside.

I did not realise that having spent a lot of the day asleep (thanks to the anesthetic), that he may not be sleepy. :) :clown: Needless to say, he sneeked onto the bed during the night. I keep him quiet, I decided to let him be. BIG MISTAKE. Talk about fidget!! :p Being worried that he might jump off the bed, I did not get very much sleep :( :( :( :(

Tonight, he is going through to the back hall dogs room to sleep with his canine companions. He seems totally normal and not snappy or in pain so hopefully I will get some Zzzzz's tonight. On the up side, his wound looks really neat and he has invisible dissolving stitches which he cannot get at. :) :) :) He does not seem fazed by the whole thing at all. I am impressed. Bless his little white socks

I hope Grace and Ruby's respective spays go well next month :luck: :luck:

Glad it all went okay for Toddy! When ours were done I was amazed at how small and neat the wound was. Ours need Metacam for a couple of days as they were in a bit of pain and whimpering, but they bounced back in no time. They didn't mess with the stitch at all. Now they are back to being themselves but somehow more content with life!

It is so worrying when they are at the vets, isn't it?

glad toddy if back from the vets and feeling himself, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery :huggles:

Glad all went well for Toddy

Hope all goes well with the recovery... :luck:

10 days ... gosh that's a long time to keep a whippy quiet  When Tyg was neutered recently our vet said 48 hrs before he could be lead walked, but only 5 days before he could be allowed to run, as long as it was just mooching about.

Glad to read that Toddy is otherwise well ... bet that's a load off your mind :)

Glad to hear that everything went well for Toddy at the vets :huggles: to Toddy

Isn't it just!!!! :b I always thought I was a pretty calm relaxed person when it came to my pets being neutered as I always get them done, both boys and girls. But when I came to getting Tina done last year I was a nervous wreck all morning at work and then when I got home at 1pm I couldn't ring the vets to see how she was until 3pm  I tried to tell myself that no news was good news but those 2 hours just dragged out sooooo long....I tried occupying myself with pottering about on the computer etc but it was just hell  And then when I COULD go to pick her up at 4pm I sat in the waiting room for what felt like hours...but was probably only 5 minutes! I was almost pacing the floor like an expectant father with nerves :b

I don't know if I'm just getting soft in my old age or whether Tina was something different in my heart to all my other dogs/cats/rabbits etc :b

I had to keep her calm and on the lead only for 10 days too - these vets obviously know NOWT about whippets!!!

Give darling Toddy some big hugs n' kisses from his Auntie Gill :huggles:
