How beautiful Eve, it looks as though you had a lovely time  Lucky you, seeing a red squirrel! Are there still wild goats in the hills?

There are wild goats in the Galloway National Park nearby. They roam a huge fenced in area. There are red deer too in another area.

The squirrel came to the feeder every morning at 6.15 am followed by the Spotted Woodpeckers, Siskin, Great tit and Coal tits and hordes of other lovely birds. My Mother spoils them ;) I also had a lovely sighting of the Red Kites, beautiful acrobats (w00t)

Poor Hubby saw more of the other kind of wildlife :( he is covered in insect bites !) He will cycle in the forest in a pair of shorts, t shirt and wearing no insect repellant. He also refused to take Garlic capsules which work wonders. Perhaps next time he will take some advice

What lovely pictures. I love Scotland and have spent lots of time in the borders but would love to venture further up. Have any of your dogs ever had trouble with deer ticks as I know there's a greater risk of Lymes disease from them?

Gorgeous photos Eve.   Looks like you all had a great time.

We went to Scotland last year for the first time and really fell in love with it. Hope to go again next year. :)

They are brushed and checked for ticks after every walk when we are in the Galloway area as there are a lot of deer in the area.

I use Advocate but it does not properly protect against ticks. Advantix is the solution for that. Fortunatley having short coats makes them a harder target for ticks

You certainly did have some far reaching views there. It's an area we haven't yet explored but keep meaning to. Having said that we're off to Perthshire in September again.

Love the beddie..

Billy No Mates is doing wonders for Grace  . Since she has been having it (it is a herbal mixture, nothing toxic, I just add a bit to each meal) I've not seen any fleas or ticks on her. Even better, she hasn't had her usual reaction to whatever is in the grass at this time of year. Could be a coincidence, but it sure makes life pleasanter and easier for us both.

Looks like you and the dogs had a lovely time  We first went to that area when our first whippet was less than a year old and he had a great time chasing bunnies! Lovely photos. :)
