Hi All

Just wanted to share the good news that at the end of the 6 week Puppy Foundation Course, my gorgeous girl Lily came top of the class!! There was a right mix of puppies there, most who were nearly 6 months and she is the baby at only 4 months. We had a fun little test where they had to do everything we had learnt and they got marked out of 80. Lily got 72!! She won some treats, a toy and a bag of food and got a certificate which is now on my fridge. She had to take food gently, do sit, down, stand, walking on a tight lead, loose lead and no lead and then recall and recall with distraction. Plus a pretend Veterinary inspection (ears, teeth, paws etc...)

She was a little star and was almost perfect - I never believed at the start of the 6 weeks that she would have achieved it put all our hard work paid off. The trainer was chuffed a whippet won too as he said they can be naughty!! Hehe!!

I've added a couple of new pics of our first walk up the woods... she's starting to look very grown up!!!

Well done Lily. What a brilliant achievement. :)

We're always happy to share such good news especially when accompanied by such nice photos too. Well done!

Thanks everyone!! I am very proud of my little girl. I just have to wait until she is 6 months and then she can join the obedience class... I'm really looking foward to it. My little boy has got her to sit and down now too... xx

Well done you and Lilly! Gracie sailed through her puppy class and was really good. My trainer was also amazed as she had always seen whippets as overly sensitive and nervous. Now we are at the same training class with Milo who's 19 weeks and doesn't give a stuff about training just causes mayhem, wants to play and refuses point blank to work for me!

Well done Lily!! She is a beautiful girl too, very cute  :huggles: Those are lovely family photos :) She looks very smart in her collar, we have one from exmoor lurcher and they are lovely and soft.

I knew someone recommended the Exmoor Lurcher collar - it must have been you - thanks! It is beautifully soft but also feels secure for walking so I am very happy with it. I've got her a lovely matching purple lead with daisies on it - so cute - and gets lovely comments wherever we go! xx

Thankyou! Sounds like Milo is a bit more of a handful allright - at least he's not nervy and oversensitive!!

Out of interest... did Gracie stay being a good girl as she grew up? Lily is being so good but I wonder what will happen when she hits her teenage years!!

Gracie is still a youngster, only 16 months and is a really good girl. She is a bit of an enigma in that she tries to boss 5 year old Tilly (and succeeds) but Milo is so laid back, he completely ignores her and goes his own sweet way not really taking any notice of anyone. On the other hand, if Milo is riping something up or chewing the handles on the laundry room cupboards, her eyes are like saucers with a 'wait till mum finds out and you'll be in trouble' look on her face. Gracie's HUGE plus is that her off lead recall is fantastic and, hopefully, she's teaching Milo. I'm sure Lilly will continue to be a good girl, I think at her age you've got a pretty good idea what the package is!

Hahaha!! This cracks me up, I love the idea of her watching Milo getting into trouble and her telling tales - so cute!

So far Lily's recall has been really good and when she picks up something she shouldn't, she is dropping it when I say 'leave'. I have mainly been walking her in the woods, country park or Abbey grounds which are not near the roads and she happy to trot along with me. She wants to play with all the dogs we meet but I am trying to get her to hang back and not run straight up to them, just in case they aren't friendly. My local park, which is only round the corner, has busy roads all around with no fence and I'm just too scared to let her off there yet.

We were at the Abbey Tea Rooms the other day and she just sat under the table while we had our lunch like a little angel. One of the waitresses even brought her a bowl of water over and a handful of biscuits so she didn't have to get up! She was very happy to be waited on. LOL!

When we did puppy classes Daisy my oldest was a nightmare who took 3 times as long as any other dog just to do the puppy foundation course, she did grow up to be rather lovely when she feels like it. She managed to do KC good citizens up to silver but we did rush her through as she was still feeling soppy after her season after failing her bronze 3 times pre season :clown:

Morrissey the middle child was perfect and whizzed through, he completed his in 3 weeks rather than the advised 4 and went on to cpomplete KC good citizens bronze, silver and gold by the grand old age of 9 months o:)

Dexter the youngest has a fantastic recall but thats about it, sits, downs, me moving away more than 1/2 inch forget it  saying that he is 2 now and doing really well at agility (so far so good he has done 4 classes)
