Who,s started training there dogs after the winter lay off ..gaz and myself started about 5 days ago up at newton aycliffe track on the big field ..we have started free running our pup 9 months old and slipping amazing grace after her hip injury..there walking has started also (gaz had to get his walking boots out hehehe) all my lot are about 4lbs over weight

I was at easington this morning helping Debbie and Paul out ..there was a few there ..a couple that caught my eye were Anths blue pup out of the same litter as sail away and Joes Roseanna

I keep thinking about it does that count? :D

:p trailed oscar (oscars pride) with gus (maddas),it was gusses

Not forgetting about little zak (master tornado) he went round well from first bend as he his not a year old until the 12th of Jan. :D ??? :D

Moany Moany says she hopes Master Tornado enjoyed himself at Easington ... also Happy Birthday for the 12th, hers was on the 1st of Jan.

Hope to see you all up at the Open on 1st Feb :D

It is my personal opinion that dogs stick to a gruelling race training regime ... starting around 5am mid-winter ... start by jumping from bed to bed play fighting until someone lets you out for a wee ... later on a gruelling 5 mile high powered fast paced walk with runs inbetween miles followed by backflips and the agility course ... not forgetting the Worlds Strongest Dog competition to conclude. And that's all before breakfast which consists of food in a dish (which is never enough hence the next stage of this gruelling training regime) stand on hind legs use front paw to push food bin open and eat your fill snapping head back quickly to as not to get it stuck in the flap ... to conclude this spend the rest of the day laying on back snoring burping and farting in time to the quickstep or foxtrot ...

:p :p :p :w

;) well dont know bout any1 else but i continue 2 walk mine throughout the winter. Obviously its not like when they r in serious training but there is hell on if they r not taken on their morning walk. No matter what the weather is like they have no consideration. The serious training will start now the long walks and the free running etc oh the fun of it all 2 win if u r lucky a few pounds and maybe a trophy. :D

some of us do because we enjoy meeting up with friends and love the sport ...i have to agree theres nothing to be made out of racing whippets apart from statues ...thats why i find it hard to get my head around cheats ..there not just cheating them selfs but others to ...do you agree sherry?

whopps posted in gazs again

Too True, ;) cost's a fortune to whippet race, :8 at the end of the day it's nice if your whippet wins for you (after putting all the hard work in that i know you all do) but like dee says it's not just the racing, but meeting up with friends old and new, and if your whippet don't win well there is always another day............. :D

Gonna take my 3 out for a walk in a bit , somehow don't think they'll get very fit whilst walking alongside a double buggy!! Perhaps i could tie the dogs to the front of the buggy though & let them pull it like husky's, bet that'd put some muscle on em - mind you the two lazy arse whippets would just let the spaniel do all the hard work!!!

i need L plates for my pushchair :b i cant even push it in a straight line....never mind walking with dogs as well :0 .
