Hi,

A few months ago I was entered in a french show were I saw a tri color whippet.

Are there K9 members who know more about tri color whippets, such as pedigree, the 60 's and 70 '. Every information and pictures would be very welcome.

In France, Countess de Saint-Seine bred dogs of that colour under the afix de Grillemont. This kennel name is still active, i believe it the original breeder's granddaughter who has it now. I have several photos, if you email me I will be able to send them to you.

More recently there was a tricolour pup at Shamasan kennels in USA

here is a link to the litter

Awww thank you - he's not bad for a 25 quid rescue

He is almost perfectly symmetrical - even the spots on his legs changing colour at the same height!

He's at least 13 years old now

It looks to have just a bit on its chest, toes and the hint of a snip

I can't post a picture because I'd be stealing badwidth, but there is a tri-color on Phoebe Booth's SHAMASAN website named Michael.

I take it that this is the Sunsalve dog that was sent to France?? If so, he was in the litter that my foundation bitch's dam came out of. As far as I know, none of the bitches in that litter reproduced the colour nor their offspring.

Almost all the Whippets I know of in the US who are tris go back to Ch. Slades Dixieland Dandy Duke (including the Shamasan dog referenced earlier).

Duke's pedigree
