Hi sorry if this has been asked before, but my Lurcher has just found a love of tripe  , which is great as she is a fussy eater.

My question is what else should I be feeding her, I have been told that feeding just tripe is a bad idea.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Tripe really isn't a very nutritionally balanced diet by itself .........I feed a high quality complete with tripe .......Or I add supplement like stress or SA-37 :)

I feed mine tripe once a week (smell puts me off giving it them any more than that) but mine is mixed with greyhound complete. Dogs love it, its just a shame 'cos of the smell.

I feed raw tripe twice a day with Arden Grange complete  - he looks really well on it, and from being a right fussy so-and-so before, he now clears his plate at every meal! He does not suffer from bad breath or any other unpleasant odours! :b

But I do feed him in the utility room, and hold the pack at arms length to empty it into the bowl! :x

I personally think its worth putting up with the smell :x The breeder of my first dog Oscar brought some with him when he brought the pup to me and Ive been feeding it ever since. Usually its tripe every other day in our house.

The dogs love it - and I feed mine raw - dont make the mistake of cooking it - you will never get rid of tHAT smell (w00t)

I don't feed mine tripe but looked after some dogs for a chap whilst he was in hospital and he feeds raw tripe - have to say the smell really made me heave the first couple of times and although I am sure my dogs would love it I can't get past that heaving smell I'm afraid - sorry Pedro, Zair and Meg!

Sorry i'm new to all this and this is the first puppy we have ever had so i'm still learning. My mum hs always fed her 2 dogs tripe and they look really well on it too but at what age can I start feeding it to mine?

Well my puppy was already on it when he arrived at 12 weeks - so Id say as a puppy would be a good time to start - as long as its part of a balanced diet.

Mine get tripe once or twice a week and love it :D

I feed tripe every day for their dinner and they get complete for breakfast.
