Remembered this morning that is is 4 years ago today that Twiggy came to us. She was initially a foster as her owner had been hit by a car and the people in the flat below them couldn't care for her dogs any longer. After a couple of months, the owner decided to sign her back to whippet rescue (she came from there at a year old, and her previous owner fostered her and trained her to live indoors etc. She was then rehomed 3 times, but due to separation anxiety, kept going back to her foster carer. She decided after the third try, to keep her). Of course I couldn't see her rehomed yet again, so agreed to keep her. :b
She was so confused when she first arrived, and clung to me , following me everywhere. She still does!!
Poor old love is getting quite senile and hasn't been well for some time. It was such a shock that our dear Willow died yesterday, and she is still with us. She was 13 a couple of months ago - as far as we know .
Here is a picture, taken on holiday in October (a few days before we got our dear Willow). Not sure how much longer she'll be with us, but she has at least made it to another year. No celebrations - we're all too sad- but she'll get a special treat this evening.
