Hi everyone
I don't know how to put this into words.
I'm devastated, my Oliver has lost all movement in his legs, it started with a slight pain in his neck to no movement yesterday.
Rushed him to the vets who said I should put him down, I wasn't happy so I got a second opinion today only to be told the same.
I've asked for an x ray to be done tomorrow. I'm heartbroken I don't want to lose him he's only 7 and wondered if anyone else has gone through this.

I am so sorry this happened recently to my mums staffy she was around 9 yrs old ...
Have you asked for a MRI as a Xray will not show up soft tissue damage or trapped disc....

Oscar my BC was 8 when I came down one morning and found him scooting around like a seal. No back end mobility at all.

I rushed to the vet too. My vet asked if he had lost bladder or bowel control. No he hadn't.
The vet pinched toes and got a bit of response so he said all hope was not lost
A scan showed nothing broken ,no tumour no clues to the problem but the vet persisted and gave the steroid voren by injection. At first I went back every day then after three days and slight improved the vet taught me to give the injection and I had to give them first daily then every two days for about 3 weeks. Walks were done with the aid of a sling. We bought a jacuzzi bath and set that up in the garden so he only had to stand but the bubble jets worked his muscles. Making him work to regain balance.. Oscar recovered, not 100% I never let him run chase or walk stairs again but he lived for two years after the injury and enjoyed loads of lovely long walks under his own steam.

Good luck I hope you find a good solution.. xxx

I'm so sorry to read this, I hope they can find something to help him - wishing you the best of luck and I'll be thinking of you both. Update us when you can please.

I've no advice to give - just sending my best wishes and crossing all my fingers and toes for you and Oliver.

I am so sorry to hear this too, I have no experience of this either, but am sending good thoughts and hugs your way...x

Me too. Do let us know how you get on.

Thank you for all the wishes.
It's been a really horrendous 4 day's, I took Oliver to a different vet for a second opinion as I'm not wanting to let him go without trying. He had an X ray done and it's getting sent down to the specialist to see what they say.
At the moment he's on steroids and can't move his legs.
It's absolutely heartbreaking to see, I feel like my world is falling apart, I'm just praying it comes back and says we can help him.

Thank you for updating us. I can't imagine how you must be feeling, what a horrible, horrible time for you. We will keep everything crossed for a positive reply. Good luck.

Absolutely everything crossed for you and your boy x

And from us, as you know.

I was hoping no news is good news ....xx

Sorry I haven't noticed your messages.
It's tough but the outlook looks good for him. He's getting physio to help him get on his feet.
I'm just so pleased I changed vets as the outlook from the last one wasn't good.
Thank you for asking xxx
