Has anyone got a link to the results for the American National. Or does anyone have the results?

www.whippetview.com has all the results.

Lisa went over last week and is helping handle the Electra kids for Phoebe from the Shamasan litter Phoebe had from Edward. The results may be boring for most of you, but I have a nebulous link to them because I bred their dam (Electra) and visited them last year so I get very excited at their successes. This is her post at 2 am their time: -_-

"Futurity

Tailer - 3rd in 12-14 mth dog class

Rufus hopped and skipped a bit and didn't do anything.

Roo (handled by Lisa) 2nd in 12-14 mth bitch class Jane (handled by Phoebe) 3rd in 12-14 mth bitch class

Classes so far- (judged by Bo)

Phoebe - 1st 12 -18 mth class with client dog Phoebe & Tailer 4th in Bred By Exhibitor - 30 in the class, not sure about Absentees Lisa & Rufus 4th in American Bred (14 in class) Phoebe & Benny 4th in Open Dog (29 in class)

Roo and Lisa having a bit of a bad day went 3rd of 4 in Novice class. She showed beautifully in the Futurity but I think the small size of the class meant I didn't have any time to try and settle her.

Tonight in Vets Sweepstakes under Magnus - Phoebe's Sam 1st in Over 12's, Nellie 1st in 7-10"

Go to www.imagesbylorie.com for pics of winners at the National including obedience and Futurity.

Lisa is pic 55 in Futurity with Rufus and Phoebe is handling Tailer in pic 62. Haven't found the others yet.

I'm thrilled with the results with the Aussie link. Haven't heard how the Saville Row pups have gone. Lisa's post was very brief.

Poor Roo has had a tough time. When we visited last year and she was just a puppy, she had been suffering from a gastro bug and was very thin. Then a couple of months later, she broke her jaw and was fitted with the most amazing contraption I've ever seen. I'll find the link to the pic. As she has been kept quiet for several months, you can understand why she needs time to settle when out.

Cheers

I got back from the first part of the National on Wednesday and was so sorry to leave before the main judging. Congrats to Nellie who Phoebe brought down to show me specially the night before I left. Last time I saw her she was 5 months old!!

The Saville Row puppies have done very well. One of Karen Lee's (Surrey Hill) getting a 1st in the futurity and 2 of Iva's also getting !sts. Another of Karen's was second in the regular classes. The full results are available at Whippetview along with Copies of the daily Whippet published by Todd Miller.

If anyone is thinking of a trip to this fantastic event, I would say GO GO GO. It is great fun with loads to see and do, and some stunning whippets to enjoy. Not to mention the shopping, The stalls are amazing, everything from Jewellery and coats to stationery, beautiful paintings and every sort of collar known to dog or man. There are around 20 booths set out outside the ballroom to browse at.

I also had a gorgeous litter of Puppies to enjoy out of Bluestreak Belle du Jour (half sister to Bubbly Blonde and Belle of the Ball). Their Sire is Dual Champion Surrey Hill Pep Talk, a wonderful dog with the most beautiful head. The puppies provided an attractive diversion for many visitors to Karen's trailer where they entertained a succesion of International judges. I have picked my favourite and will be co-owning her with Kristen Fredericks, she is to stay Stateside for the time being.

I will try to attach a picture....may not work.

I also got to see the lure coursing, and obedience which was very impressive. It is interesting to note that champion show dogs compete in the lure coursing while still being campaigned, and are in immaculate hard condition.

I can't wait to go back

OMG - she is divine!

Thanks for that interesting information on the Whippet National - I have often looked at pics on the web and dreamed of maybe one day.............. :- "

I love the fact that the obedience looks like it takes place inside a posh hotel, all beautifully carpeted etc   - wonderful for whippets who always break their sit stays cos they don't like sitting on hard wooden church hall floors! :teehee:

Aaaaahhhhh.. what a beautiful piccy - butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, very sweet o:)

Hi Listers

Some of the results of the Whippet Club of America National judged by Bo Bengston are as follows.

Congratulations go to Angie Diehl as her co-owned Moxi, Multi Spec BIS Ch Brushwood's Moxi of Endevour went BOB. Handled by Amanda Clevenger. way to go Angie.

Best of Opp was the co-owned Ch Shamasan Hound Hill Body and Soul handled by her co owner Phoebe Booth.

BOW was Kathy Amado's Crossing The Rubicon De Sud.

My congratulations also go to Deann and Lee Christianson who won WB with the lovely Mimi, Sth Af Ch Sol Y Sombra Soleil D Orient. What a lovely win for Deann and Mimi as Mimi went to the USA to live @ Chelsea after the untimely death of her breeder/owner Jean Pascal late last year.

I am sure Jean will be looking down beaming with pride after such a lovely win. Jean thought that Mimi was as close to his ideal whippet and what a fitting result for all concerned.

Congratulations to all winners!!! Very glad to see a black going BOS at such a big event

I LOVE Moxi. She's a deserving winner.

A very big cheer for Cora, Joan and Phoebe for Handy winning Best Opposite of Sex. He's a gorgeous boy both John and I fell in love with when we visited the Hound Hill Whippets last year.

Phoebe had a good day with Nellie winning 10th Select and her Electra kids placing 3rd, 4th and 4th. Can't wait till the girl comes home.

Saw that a couple of the Sav pups placed 2nd. I'm sure Peter and/or Lisa will fill us in on the Aussie connections on their return. :)
