I know there are a lot of you lurcher guys out there that enjoy a bit of bend racing so i thought i would let you know about a really good track to school, start or just give your dogs a run on.

The guys that run this track, like everyone are struggling to make ends meet and if we don't support them it will mean the loss of another track (like portsmouth).

The guys are really helpful and happy to slip dogs, help with trapping or starting youngsters off or any other requests that you may have. You can run any breed of dog and i mean any (have seen an alsation enjoying a run round this track in the past) I have started my current racing dog off here and hope to be able to introduce my pups to bend racing here as well.

The track surface is sand and very well maintained, runs are timed and you can run any distance you choose, they also have hurdles there.

The track is situated not far from Bicester, the M40 J9, not far off the A41 on the B4011 Thame road at the back of Clue Hills farm (HP18 9UZ) just past the prison on the right hand side. Contact No is - 07850 375164, trialing sunday mornings till 1pm. Ring first to check and book in. Also some wednesdays again ring first. Runs are £5 per dog. They will also run race meetings by prior arrangement.

SO COME ON GUYS SUPPORT THIS TRACK AND KEEP IT GOING FOR EVERYONE TO USE.

have included some pics of the track.

Looks a nice track. When you say runs are £5 a dog - is that per run?

Also would it be available for whippet race meetings on a Sunday - for say an open event?

Enjoyed the race day for any breed that they held a few months ago

It looks like a fab track. It would be such a shame for a track like this to go to the wall :(

We pay £5.00 per dog, max £15.00 for three dogs or more & we get between two & three runs June, usually three. £2.50 for hand slips. This is at the Westhoughton track.

The other post for this track says 5 per dog per run ;)
That's a shame, as with 3 dogs, and a 200 mile round trip to attend, it makes it out of our reach moneywise. If we travel that far, we would want 2-3 runs for each dog, or it's not worth travelling :(

Chatting to the guys at the track yesterday they said they would be happy to have race meetings for anyone be it heinz 57s or pedigrees. The best thing is to ring them and have a chat as then you can discuss your requirements.

I'm sorry i don't know how much it is to run more than one dog together as i only have one dog so this has never arisen for me.

How about sharing a vechicle June, I live near Ledbury and would be happy to share travel costs!

that does not sound to bad £5.00 for two runs but £5.00 for one run thats to much for us with 3 dogs

That sounds like a nice idea, but my husband would want to come, and we would have to take all 7 of our dogs as it would be too long to leave them :( Looks like a lovely track though, and maybe with some discussion it might be possible to run an event there. It just depends on what owners think about running on sand. My dogs have had many toe injuries from running bends on grass, so I'd like to give it a try ;)

Oh no - why do things always post twice from my phone?!

yes that can be quite exspensive if you have more than one dog..i was also told £5 per run per dog

ive been there a few times..sue ward has organised evenst there aswell in the past

it be ok if you can get at least two runs for £5,but with the econemy as it is and with fuel prices going up most are watching the pennies

if there was a few of us interested then maybe it can work out..be a shame if it closed
