This morning we had to put Jet to sleep. :'(

Jet was a late 18th birthday present that I gave to myself. He was the first whippet I owned and was an absolute delight and joy to live with. He passed away aged 13.

Thankyou Noreen Harris for the privilage of owning Jet. He was a wonderful wonderful companion.

He was full brother to Aust / NZ Ch Bonnymead Red Pepper from a repeat mating of Ch Noholme Pepper Mill x Bonnymead Simply Red. Whilst he may not have done the winning of his older brother Woody, he was still a fantastic show dog who taught me the ropes in the whippet ring.

RIP Jetty ... I hope you find a nice big wood heater in heaven to snooze beside.

How I feel for you at this sad time . my thoughts are with you .

They are all so special to us

So sorry to hear your sad news. It really really hurts when you lose your first whippet. For some reason they are always sooooo special. My heart goes out to you at this time and has brought memories of my first whippet flooding back

Elly, I'm so sad to hear your news. Everything Yvonne has said above is ditto from me, too. It also got me thinking abut the special friends I have lost. You have to expand your heart to encompase more because although you can pysically replace the ones you lose by your side you can never replace the ones you lose in your heart.

RIP, Jet - I hope he's chasing bunnies with my boys.

Gail.

So sorry to hear you news :'(

It is hard to find the words to express the heartache we experience when our mates pass away.... I will send a message for Lulu to look out for Jet, she can show him where all the snuggliest wood heaters are

Our thoughts are with you :huggles:

Sending you :huggles: at this sad time, it is never easy saying goodbye to your best mate.

Oh Elly, I'm so sorry to hear of Jet's goodbye and I'm feeling for you. Turn to your others for comfort.

It's 10 years ago this month I lost my precious Bobby and that pain is as fresh as it was then every time I hear of someone else's special one moving on.

I hope Jet will meet up with Bob and all the others at the Rainbow Bridge too - it comforts me to think of them all there together, young again, playing happily, sleeping comfortably and waiting for us - with no anxiety or pain in their hearts - just content and waiting patiently.

RIP JET

Thank you my dear friend you were calling me

You had to say goodbye so unexpectedly

And I know I get a little lost along the way

But don’t you know I love you

And now I’m surrounded by angels

I’ve an angel who’s a friend

And I’ve two angels that can sing like me

And now I’m surrounded by angels

I’ve angels with my blood

And one who’s now above me in peace

When they lowered you down you were calling me

I heard a choir, I heard a band, but there was only me

And you wouldn’t like a fuss; you’d shake your head

But I owe you so very much for what you did

And don’t you know I love you

And I know I got a little lost along the way

But don’t you know I love you

I’ve an angel who’s a friend

And one who’s now above me in peace

So sorry to hear about your lovely boy Jet - as everyone has commented we all thinking of you Elly.

May time heal the pain and is replaced with fond memories and the love you shared.

RIP Jet
