Please tell me who to look out for next SUNDAY. We will be making the long trek to Wickwar (It takes a whole 23 minutes to get there :sweating: :sweating: :sweating: ).

Hannah are we going to have wine at the Buffay at lunch time? If so, who else wants to come?

Hi Joanna,

Won't be gong to South Cotswold tomorrow as Digger still has a nasty wound from his lure courseing :( :(

Hope to make the hill sprint next week (w00t) (w00t)

Me and my black and white thugs will be there again!

Or should it be black, white and blue after Gabriel's pen eating incident? :b

Oh no, it's not still bad is it? Notice the current BSFA newsletter says there were 'no injuries on the day at Radway' (or something like that) :- "

Didn't enter as I'm feeling knackered - sorry now, everyone else is going. Is it worth asking about cancellations?

From past experience there are usually a few cancellations on the day. If you are close by it's worth popping along, or give Sue a ring.

Yep we're going  .......and we'll definatly have to go to the pub as it thirsty work running up and down that hill all day (w00t)

Hi Joanna Me & Paula will be there.

Hannah don't tell Paula it's thirsty work she'll cost me a fortune. (sorry about missing south cotts today but only just got out of bed :( )

Elizabeth, give Sue a ring, I'm sure she will be able to fit you in. It would be nice to meet you.

I am looking forward to meeting Paula too

Sorry poor Digger has a nasty, hope the poor chap is feeling better soon, at least I won't need to take my ear plugs this morning :p

 Glad I've got a drinking buddy Hannah

thanks for the tip about the pub and drinks hannah  it will be nice to meet you to joanna and just for mr roberts i will cost you a fortune so get used to it o:)

Hey Joanna me, Gaz & the gang will be there  but you met us last time, so maybe you wont want to this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (w00t)

Not going as still in bathroom-horror-DIY mode and of course Josie is in season - but I might drive over just for a quick "Hello" on my own if I can sneak away when Adrian is up a ladder and won't notice I'm gone :- "

Elizabeth, you can almost certainly just turn up, Sue and Terry always seem very accommodating  we just turned up last time and Josie got two runs, and there were quite a few empty spaces on the programme. Some friends of ours popped in just to say hello (with their terrier) and were offered a run if they could find another dog of similar size to run with. So come!!!

I havent booked as I was uncertain about legs and Kennel Cough

We might be turning up on the day too :b

Star could do with a good run and the chance to catch up with Archie

I could do with a good drink and the chance to catch up with Jo

I've tried ringing them and leaving messages, no luck. Must be taken up with their new puppies (or so I hear on the grapevine :- " ) Really, would it be ok to just turn up on the day? How does it work, do you need to sort out partners before? How is it scored? I don't just want to do a fun run, I'd like to compare him with something with a bit of form.

I can only tell you what I did last time. Just turn up before 10am and speak to sue or terry (usually under a big gazebo thing with a table and lots of paperwork) and they will pair you with someone  You'll need a muzzle, although you can buy one there for £4.50, or borrow one (but the loaners are wire and not so comfortable as the plastic ones).

400 yards uphill - IMO it never looks like a fun-run  takes me ten minutes just to slog back up the hill walking!! I think dogs of all abilities are there, but most of them are bloomin' good by the looks of them. Not that I'm any judge. Watch that northern lot - they win all the rosettes :- "

Quite a few Northern invaders after certificates let alone rosettes!

Yup, got all the gear from racing days. Do they use coloured collars rather than coats? (too lazy to look on photo comp pics). Still not clear how the competition works though! Shame I don't live in Wales anymore, we'd be hill-sprinting experts! Not too many hills around here though :(

Elizabeth,

Sue and Terry are usually around in the evening, so try phoning then. A few people didn't turn up on the day, so the likelyhood is you will get a run against another dog. Your dog is paired against a dog of similar weight, age and height in a stake. The first pair in the stake are hand slipped and race against each other, then the second pair.

The winner from each pair compete against each other in the afternoon racing, as do the runners up, rosettes are handed out accordingly at the end of the day. It's a good fun day out (no loos though, luckily not far to the pub for a lunch time drink and wee).

Hope this helps.......last time, Archie didn't have any-one to race against in the afternoon as a dog didn't turn up in his stake :(
