We had a great whippety and lurcher day at West Somerset to raise money for the new container to keep the club equipment secure.The weather was just right- the hot sun came out just as we finished the stakes, and we picniced and sunbathed. Thanks to all our helpers and supporters and especially Tracey C. and Rae T.who did sterling work with the loud hailer and as slip stewards, and to Mel's impeccable slipping. The dogs were well matched and we had some close courses.Congratulations to Claire and Andrew Griffin's Wheatroyd Wheal Andrew, Rae Todd's Big Bruva Strikes, Joan Davies's Lamplyte Dancing princess and Annette Fursdon's Whirling Whimbrel and Tourmaline Gem on becoming Venture Hill Sprint Champions.

A brilliant day, well done everyone, especially to Lou with Mozza, Margaret with Cedric & Chase, Julia with Connie, Joe with Tiffany, Claire with Bentley and ofcourse Joan with Shagga - what an amazing dog she is.

Dexter gave Connie a real run for her money, not bad for a couch potato!

Spidey said it looked like fun and he'd like a go next time.

(Supe didn't win anything byw Julia, he stood in for a withdrawn dog in the cons)
