Hi,

We chose our puppy at the weekend, and should be bringing him home early august!

We haven't managed to find a vet recommendation for a Whippet in the Llanelli/Ammanford area (ideally closer to Ammanford).

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Matt

If no-one is in this area, can you suggest any other places where I could ask for Vet recommendations for our new whippet?

Many Thanks

hi there, sorry i don,t live in that area, but why don,t you look in your phone directory or anyone who lives nearby you who got pets and ask them what vets they uses or recommend, i'm sure someone will be able to help you

good luck with your pup in August :luck: :luck:

any more info on the pup you are having?sorry not being nosey, just we like to hear about everybody's new additions :) :)

I live in Blackwood a long way from you so our vets would'nt be much use really.Try asking around and you'll soon get a good idea which one is the best to use.

Good luck with your new addition. :))

When I lived in Swansea we used the St James veterinary practice:

St James Veterinary Group

01792 643906

68 Walter Road, Swansea, SA1 4PT

I needed a vet for an emergency when we were down at Xmas and went back to them; they were very good, although it was Boxing day and it was out of hours they only charged us £90 to sedate and stitch up our dog's throat wound, and forwarded the details to our vet here very quickly. I think they have other surgeries apart from Walter Road, maybe they have one a bit closer to you. I was very pleased with them.

Embarrassingly I am actually from Ammanford :b , but I don't know of any vets up there. Perhaps if you ask around the local dog walkers you'll find out who everyone uses up there.

:luck: and welcome to k9

Many Thanks for the replies...

We currently use the St James' vets you mentioned for our cat! We have moved house recently, and I was just seeing if anyone new a good vet for a whippet closer to home (near Ammanford). Hopefully our new addition will like car journeys...

Attached is a pic we took of him at the weekend, he is 4 weeks old at the minute.

Thanks again,

There's a good greyhound vet in Newport - just in case you get any sports type injuries with your whippy. Jean Morris 01633 255394
