One of my Christmas presents from my son and his family was an

upgrade for my pc.

He stripped it all down and put in a new graphics card and some

memory or ram or something along those lines......i can use it

not build it :lol:

 

He also installed windows vista rather than my old xp.

My pc is now whizzing.............apart from k9 which is so slow

i could scream. Whats going on do you think its the vista or what

Now I just got a new laptop for myself (always used my company one before) and this new one has Vista. I must admit I don't find it as user-friendly as XP which is what I have on the company machine and, yes, I think it's slower.

It shouldn't be 'cos I paid extra to have 2gb RAM in my new pooter but I think it's slower all round.

Any techies out there who know why this might be??

My Acer laptop has Window Vista, I absolutely love it. Heard all sorts of nasties about it before I got it and so far had no problems at all. :cheers:

I have Windows XP on the Main PC.. only problem Ive had is that some of the older software dosnt work with Vista.. :blink:

To be honest I find K9 slow too at times, but Nigel thinks its AOL... :lol:

I installed Vista on one of my comps, complete load of utter bilge, Microsoft put vista on the market to early in my opinion, its full of bugs, not compatible with this, not compatible with that, get your son put xp back

When I bought my laptop we were sent a copy of Vista to install when it was released but my son refused to install it - says it was c***. :blink: So its here still in the box. :unsure: The PC still has XP on too. :thumbsup:

My Acer laptop has vista on it and I don't have any problems Ben has a HP laptop and it has xp on it and it is deeeeeeaaaaaaaaaddddddd slow mind you that might be the crap he has on it. I was advised not to store photos on it put them on discs or a memory stick.

I was also told to use a memory stick to as an extra hard drive. When I first used it it asked if I was using it to store things or to speed it up it does now seem a bit quicker. I got a 4gig hard memory stick from Aldi £16.99

I've recently changed from aol to sky and its a lot better :thumbsup:

I have xp on the lap top and its not to bad. But as i said before its only

K9 im having problems with on vista and my degu forum wont keep me

signed in :angry:

I cant even blame aol as i use firefox for K9 :unsure:
