My dog has been on this drug for about 6 months and it has been successful for her. Lately she has been off colour, eating grass and last night developed diarrhoea and bought up her tea and a lot of grass. I can't find that this drug causes stomach upsets, but I am wondering if anyone has had this problem. vet says to starve her for 24 hours as long there is no blood in her poo or vomit which there isn't, and leave off the vitofyllin until I start feeding her again.

Any advice would be gratefully received,

Juliatee

Why would you assume its the drug after she has been on it problem free for 6months ?

It's more likely its just a little tummy upset . Both my dogs have been sick over the last week , they are their usual self so I'm putting it down to the extreme heat we have had .

Personally I would think its more likely to be an upset . Just keep your eye her , make sure she is drinking and if the vet says rest her stomach for 24 hours it won't harm. Introduce food slowly , giving something like rice and chicken , steamed fish or scrambled eggs etc
