It's come to that time of the year again when we take our dogs out in the dark for the last walk.

What does everybody do to make their dogs and themselves seen, we've just made some reflective collers and carry a torch but with black whippets don't think this is enough. Their winter coats when they start wearing them are dark as well.

We don't have many street lamps in are area as well

Any body got any more ideas :D .

Thanks

Simon

you can get dog coats that are florescent green and pink might look a bit naff but at least you will be seen try your local market.

Saw on one onf the Europen folks on here (maybe Ellen) her dogs were wearing illuminous harnesses which looked very swish.

I was worried about this last autumn.

With Josie the colour she is I have a hard time seeing her on overcast days because she's like a shadow, let alone on dark nights  Then my local Pound Shop obliged with a stock of reflective mini coats. Perfect!

However, there is a hilarious side-effect, and that is that people look at you all sympathetically because they think you're blind

edited to say - a whippet guide dog... can you imagine?? :- "

I've just snapped these pics for you - sorry the second one's a bit blurred.

Yes, you can read her thoughts, can't you? "It's 10am on a bright day, we've just come back from a walk and you want me to wear this? Now??"

Excellent! Show us a pic when the jacket comes - with Tilly modelling her new garment of course!

I have just bought two LED tags for Byron and Macey so I will see them in the dark!!

Will let you know what I think of them. £4.00 for the two is not bad!!

Must say that the Venture coats are brill ........ Sue and Terry Ward will take into account and make what "you" want :D .........

Some Venture Dayglo coats........(the brindle was bred by Sue and Terry  )

We have bright dayglo coats for the girls, but we also use the flashers you can get to attach to their collar. We hook one to their collar and one to the handle of the lead so that people can see both ends.

You can also buy leads with reflective bits in them. In addition you could add reflective strips to their jackets. Hubby also often walks with a bright yellow high-vis jacket/vest over his coat.
