Will the dogs have to be muzzled like in Clonmell?

Hi Tom,

Didn't know it was you. A 40 sec run wouldn't be much of a course in Wyoming would it!!!

I bred a nice black bitch bitch three weeks ago to my blue dog Croc (Lyth Dundee)

You may remember him. I called him the Iron Man. Real tough dog. I guess I'm stuck with blue or black pups again. Too soon to see and change in the bitch. Called her Brummy after my old home town in England!!

Stay away from those wild fires. Hope they are not near you.

It might be in Ireland in January, but it won't be called the Waterloo Cup and its not known if it will be on the park or not.

Hope it's not on the park, watched park coursing a few years back while over there not my cup of tea.

hi again;just another question what is parked coursing?is it lure cousing or hare is let lose in a pen?well idoubt allmake it if its in january; dont think all have enough time built up by then thanks for all answers..................tom

Park coursing is muzzled dogs, and a hare let out of a box. The hare has an escape route at the other end. Can't really say much more as I have only seen it on video!

Cerito

Park Coursing takes place in an enclosed field (fenced in) the field is approximatly 200yds x 100yds.

the hares are caught up before the start of the season and held in holding sheds, each day they are realeased and trained to run straight up the field to a safe area that the dogs cannot access.

during a course there is normaly a chute approximatly 100yds long that the hare is realeased into it immediatly heads for the safe area that it has been trained to run to.

The greyhounds are released when the hare is approximatly 100yds away from the gryhounds, the aim of park coursing insnt to turn the hare as in open field coursing but to time it to the top of the field.

I attended 2 meetings around 6 years ago while in Ireland betwwen both meetings only 1 hare was turned and actually coursed by the greyhounds unfortunatly this hare was caught and killed but due to the greyhounds wearing muzzles they were unable to despatch the hare quickly and so just kept butting it and shoulder barging it against the ground.

For me park coursing could just as easyly be done useing a drag lure.

Like I said not my cup ot tea.
