Hi all

I found it interesting that one of the most important weekends is coming up for us Racers and nobody has started a page - of congratulations and wishes of Good Luck.

This will be the last chance this year to make your dog up to full champ or win a half coat. There aren't many more chances to add to your dogs top ten points or superstars point for that matter also - but we all know this!

We will be camping from Friday as we hear the weather is to be good and it may be the last chance to get a weekend away until after Christmas! I'll be happy to chat if anyone has any ideas, interesting facts or moans.

I expect the WCRA talk-in will be next? I read with interest the comments in the June issue of The Whippet of a former chairman of the WC that she felt that we should "abolishing the racing weight classes" - now that would make an interesting Championship. I hope she is present at the talk-in to put forward her point!

The racing starts at 12.00, usually there is a caterer on site, burgers sausages etc. If you get stuck, Budgens is just over the road for snacks and drinks, and Moreton is full of cafes etc. Hope you enjoy the day. We are looking forward to running t our first bend champs having cleared Archie at Worcester 2 weeks ago.

Bingo, you'll love watching the spectacle, it is fabulous watching bend-racing. Enjoy.

see you all sunday :huggles:

Lloyd's dog Neil.......The big Fawn in the red jacket on Lloyd's pics from the Indy 2 weeks back.........You'll know him, he smiles when he runs. N/E 32lb group Magical Mistery, will come last  It's worth every penny of the entry fee to see him having a great time

the dreaded 24lb group
The 24lb group in the Blue Ribbon group and the winner is well worth the title - just ask those who run in it!

Yes Rob, we can vouch for that too  24lb group = nightmare!!

Time is running out for our boy for his other half coat at nearly 6 - but he will have a good go anyway.

Looks like our pup might be a bit smaller than his dad - so hopefully we will escape it next time (unless he has a growth spurt  )

:luck: Very best of luck to all runners - especially those at their first bend champs. Bend racing is so exciting to watch.

Hope you're right about the weather Rob - we need some sunshine.

Have a good weekend those who are camping - we're just there for the day this time.

Dave? Lynne? which one of you had a birthday yesterday?????? I think the old memory is going - Penny has always been in the 26lb group!!! Thank goodness we say, or Sweep would have had to run against her :sweating:

Penny is a star  Keep your fingers crossed for us, but I think we might be out in the first round with the fantastic dogs in that group nowadays. You never know though, there could be a major roadblock on the M6 to stop the Northerners coming down, and then a certain little Stripey lady from Maidstone might have come in season this week :teehee: Then some owners might have had a few too many on Saturday night and have to much of a hangover to attend on Sunday etc etc - then the normal 20 odd dogs normally entered might end up to be a small group afterall............oh  I've just woken up, have I been dreaming

 Looking forward to the Champs - we enjoy the camping and socialising - much less stressful than taking part in the racing! The Stripey lady you mention is not in season but I have to point out that she has not won a bend Champs, even when entering the final unbeaten in heats, quarters and semis. You can't win a bend race with speed alone, so it's anyone's race in my opinion. :luck: Best of luck to all runners and don't forget to buy your raffle tickets, we have lots of yummy prizes!

it's been clear for a while that some in the whippet club would like to see racing gone compleatly?.

see you all at the champs
