Put the telly on tonight and after deciding that my Tv package is rubbish(I'm with cable, now virgin media) and they keep swapping channels and taking others off lost sky1 already, and don't even tell you  I decided to cancel the telly package and get a free view box.

Simple I thought, rang them up waited 25 minutes to get through and told them that I wanted to cancel the telly but keep the broadband and phone, they transferred me to some one else who said to hold the line he would go to that department to get that done, 35 minutes later someone else comes on and asks how they can help  at this point there is steam coming out of my ears

So I told the bloke I was going to cancel my Tv package but after waiting an hour on the phone I told him to stick the lot where the sun don't shine, so to cut a long story short come the 2nd of june I have no tv phone or broadband.

So what do you all have? do you have some recommendations for me, good deals or anything else you can think of, for mainly phone and broadband :D

Im with Virgin media, only broadband and they have been great. except for my phone lines buggered but its my fault i cant be bothered getting them out to fix it.

My parents are with Tesco - no probs there.

Aol n BT broadband were a bit ****

but i must say virgin do like to keep you on the phone n pass you about.

Had this kind of thing b4.Simply cancel the dd and believe me they will call you within hours. When you get sorted they will say "any furthur probs contact us", do as I did and reply "if I have any furthur issues with you company I will simply cancel my direct debit and you contact me ..........It works

Can you just cancel the dd? I once had a problem with company (gas or electricity) that repeatedly took out of my account lot more than the actual bill, when i contacted them they said they cannot reimburse me so the amount will be taken off my next bill. Instead they took more again, and "forgot" to take off the last month’s overpayment. I went to my bank to stop the dd and was told I cannot do that, the company has to give permission...............

Thanks guys, :huggles: I don't have a problem with the cancel its just 30 days notice, it's just more now the who to change to  (w00t)

I am just more mad about the fact that I've been a customer for years and they keep you waiting for an hour if you have a problem, I felt like they just put you on hold then go do something else  then when you complain they tell you 'oh sorry we are very busy'.......like I'm not

The thing is with these companies if you ring a line to get connected or increase a package you get through stright away :- "

Thats why I spat my dummy out and canceled everything they can't treat people like that

Hi Lesley,We're also with virgin media......used to be NTL,They took over literally over night without warning!

I also got passed about on the phone yesterday,As the channels are now all mixed up on the T.V.....BBC Not all together,ITV....C4...CR*p we don't watch...god channel!!

You can't alter the channels they are set in the order they come down the cable

The phone,Broadband,Mobile,T.V. Package is good value. But the the helpline could be better!

We have been looking at the Sky package available at the minute (the one which is on the hundreds of leaflets shoved in every single magazine and newspaper)

OH reckons that the broadband will be a bit dodgy at first until they iron out all the wrinkles but for £25 for TV, broadband and telephone (line rental still gets paid to BT) i think its a worthwhile package.

Im ringing up next week to order it and cancel Tiscali. I will let you know how long i was on the line to India for :- " and how many times i had to say "eh?"

I'm with Virgin Media Phill and you can alter the channels on our box, if you've got the box with the blue handset just go into settings and change channel order

Cheers,I'll try it  We have a blue handset and you could move the channels about up until yesterday  But i'll have another look later,I was on the phone ages yesterday and they told me you can't move the channels now

Thanks.

Just seen this Lesley, sorry you are having a few problems, hope you soon have it sorted and get back online :)

No 'other' company should EVER have control over your bank account. YOU can cancel any dd you want to, whenever you want to!!!

Change bank because they're wrong

Thanks Wendy :huggles:

Well even though I've cancelled I thought I'd send an email to tell them how unhappy I am at this situation and the service I have received, this was on the 14th may, received an automated message back saying someone was looking into it,and they would reply in a few days as they were very busy, after 5 days I sent another saying this was the exact reason I was cancelling in he first place because of the lack of curtiousy towards customers, I also told them that it would make good business sense to employ more staff if it took 5 days to reply to an email(got the same automated reply back)

And guess what, still no reply 9 days later
