Good Luck to all of you, i bet you cant wait to have him home Jan

So sorry to hear about the traumatic time you and Jesse have been having, but making the decision re the amputation was probably the worst bit, now you will have him home and will be able to nurse him, and I think you will be surprised how quickly he bounces back. Whippets have being very light framed on their side, as heavy dogs find it much harder to cope on 3 legs.

:luck: :huggles: :luck:

I'm fairly new but wish Jesse all the best for the future you have together :luck: :luck:

Lots & lots of :luck: :luck: :luck:

Im with the children on this one ,` a 3 legged dog is better than no dog at all `

They dont think like us and Im sure he will be able to play once he gets his balance back,

Positive thinking coming from all at the Mulcair household :luck:

All the best

jackie :huggles:

Oh my god what a time you have had. I am so glad that you will be getting Jesse home. Ihope he makes a great recovery and gets used to three legs!! I am sure he will. I wish you loads of luck :luck:

I have had two 3 legged dogs here on foster this year - one was a collie and the other a lurchery crossbreed thing!

Both were very well adapted to their 3 leggedness, both were happy and very quick on their feet and agile. Our vet was delighted with them and said he wished he could have one staying locally so if he had clients thinking about pts instead of amputating he could point them in our direction, as the dogs were so happy and full of life.

Can't seem to find pics of Cassie the collie, sorry.

When I was a teenager my friend had a 3 legged dog that we all loved and we would play cricket with him...he used to use his "one back leg" as a swivel to turn on - it was amazing how quick he was!!

I think you will find your beautiful Jesse gets used to having 3 legs very quickly. So sorry he has not been well - but hope you will draw hope from the other dogs I have mentioned here.

very best of luck,

Alison xx

Just want to wish you all the very best. :huggles:

sorry what a terrible time you've had, but I think you're definitely making the right choice and the kids are right, they see it in it's simplicity.

From what I've heard , animals do very well coping with amputation, there is no stigma attached in the doggie world and he'll be rid of the pain.

:luck: :luck: hope he enjoys many more happy times with you

:huggles: to you all xxx
