Due to the adverse weather conditions Margaret has decided to cancel this weekend's open.

Although the track itself is looking great, there is water lying on the ground in places, and it's also a concern that everyone won't be able to get on / off the polo ground.

I'm sure this wont be a suprise to anyone, although it's very dissapointing.

There are no plans to reschedule for this year.

Sad news, this year seems to have been really disastrous for opens. My sympathies to all of the people who worked hard to put the event on.

Don't know about anyone else but we've had heavy rain all day so far.

I'm not surprised that West Som have had to cancel with all the rain. But it's such a shame they have worked so hard to get the new track into v good racing order and we were all so careful with it last Sunday. It really did look marvelous. As well as all the other preparation and club house cleaning.

Hope that they can reshedule for later in the year as so far I've not managed to race Jest at the club that cleared him.

It really is depressing isn't it! (and I am doubly depressed as my speedway keeps on being cancelled too :sweating: ) but at least I haven't been flooded. Worse thing is that even if the Champs are on - most dogs may not have run for 3+ weeks - well ours have not and I know many people in same situation

i would put money on the champs being cancelled the long range forcast says it is very possable that it will not stop raining until september (w00t)

will all these open trying to reschedule we might be looking for a floodlite venue

Well just listening to the radio - they are predicting a hot August! so lets hope the long range forecast is wrong!

Yes I'd heard that too - warming up from 6th August and fingers crossed as this isnt doing anyone any good at all.
