Huge turn out of 47 dogs today! (w00t)

Thanks to all those who came along and huge thanks to all my fellow club members who mucked in and kept the flow of dogs running. :thumbsup:

We started with lots of handslips for those just coming back to the bends and some newcomers to bend racing.

There is no racing booked with Wessy next Saturday 1st October due to the Jack Cadman open However, as a number of people have expressed an interest, Jason is happy for us to come along so long as he is notified by Wednesday. There's also Highgate offering club racing next Saturday as well so I'll leave it to you all to decide.

We need a minimum of 20 dogs to cover track costs so if anyone is interested can they please let me know before Tuesday either through K9, facebook or on my moby (07852 328020)

Had a great time yesterday, it may have been 2 and a half years since I've been to Westhoughton and the changes are a real credit to the new owner. The running surface was fantastic, new railings around the inside of the track and good banking on the first bend (which no doubt helped my Freya no end). I'd be more than happy to attend events at this track in the future.

My own two absolutely loved it. The first time Freya has been on the bends since last November, Trudy's first "race" with Freya and Marvin and both of their first time visiting the track.

It was great to see other people travelling for an afternoon out and non-ped, peds and other breeds all joining in enthusiastically together.

Winter bend clubs are definately the way forward for the future whether they're trialling clubs or racing clubs. It would be great if the kind of thing we have at Westhoughton and Highgate could be replicated in the further north and south of the country.

It was Down 4 South that was trialled and raced yesterday and not Up 4 North :thumbsup: Thanks to everyone for making us welcome as we have not been to Westhoughton for over a year.

Thanks jackie and vicky and all the helpers, really enjoyed our afternoon and so did the dogs :thumbsup: It was the first time for the pups sid and gladys on a bend and they went round fantastic,so they might even end up good bend dogs :lol:

Great pictures once again --love that of Annie she is the spit of her dad Coral ---with all his attributes -pity she has got to six year old and never really raced much--

We will be going to Westhoughton Saturday if there are nineteen more dogs going also --

hope so the track is spot on -----

Let jacs know early if you intend going she said there was 12 on Saturday that wanted to go so only need eight more

I would think if any one wanted to race with another particular dog /dogs to make a race up ---

the club would be more than happy with that-----

but best ask Jacs on here first she might like pre entry for that --

or even yrd and half per lb just for a little different format/
