If you like Arthurian sagas, I'd highly recommend 'The Mists of Avalon' by Marion Bradley. One of my all time favourite books from the past. It's the story told through the females perspective.

Don't keep us hanging! You've got to share (I'm imagining things like Korean car manufacturers who called their cars names that are rude words in English lol).sometimes the titles dont translate very well..lol.
Nothing as fun as that. I read Dutch fluently a little German and Danish but not for fun.Don't keep us hanging! You've got to share (I'm imagining things like Korean car manufacturers who called their cars names that are rude words in English lol).
I read the book and thought exactly the same as you!Has anyone ever seen the film 'A Man Called Otto' with Tom Hanks? Your post @JudyN just reminded me of it... I would recommend it.
I've just started listening to 'Over Sea, Under Stone' - the first book in The Dark is Rising series, only listened to 3 chapters so far, but am hooked, I'm loving it.These series are making me remember a series I read as a kid, "The Dark is Risin" by Susan Cooper? Loosely based on Arthurian Legends, anyone read them?
I really enjoyed them, may have to re-read them.
I'm still plowing through the Wheel of Time series but I've slowed down a good bit. Then I have a fluff book "the House Across the Lake" that I've started 3 times now and just can't seem to get into.
Oh I'm so glad! I do love the series, I've read it a few timesI've just started listening to 'Over Sea, Under Stone' - the first book in The Dark is Rising series, only listened to 3 chapters so far, but am hooked, I'm loving it.
I really enjoyed Circe, I read her other one too, the one about Achilles, can't remember the name anymore. I do like her style of retelling those Greek myths.I've just started reading 'Circe' by Madeline Miller which is based on Greek myths. 'Stone Blind' by Natalie Haynes is really good as well if you like that sort of thing.
And 'Piranesi' by Susanna Clarke if you like mysteries and fantasies and having your brain worked.
I'm always looking for recommendations.
So many of my friends have read and loved this one! I've just started Nothing But Blue Sky by Kathleen MacMahon. And 'Piranesi' by Susanna Clarke if you like mysteries and fantasies and having your brain worked.

It's really good and a nice brain tickler. It's going to be made into a stop-motion animated film by the same studio that did 'Coraline' and 'Kubo and the 2 strings'. I think that'll be the perfect way to bring it to life.So many of my friends have read and loved this one! I've just started Nothing But Blue Sky by Kathleen MacMahon.
