I only raced ross once in a puppy race and that was the english derby then he went straight on to adult racing he took 5 months to find his feet. Jed never raced in puppy races as he got injured at 7 months old. He was entered in about 4 yearling races and he won twice once at an open in Kirkcaldy and one in Devon. Robbie is still getting schooled. I do agree with puppy racing if the pups ready as I have seen pups racing when they should still be getting passes and no where near ready to go in with other dogs.

What nark's me off abit was the big fuss about running puppy no limit- so many people wanted it. we have moonpie aged 1 who weighs 34/35lb we have been to several BWRA opens which advertise "puppy no limit" and lo and behold we get there and it's solo's:sad:, it's P*s**d me off cos loads of people wanted it and now !!we've got it, I can't find a dog to race with at an open!!!.maybe it only gets voted in cos the people who want it have a scratch pup at the time ,whom they want to race!!!!, We have even got soapy joe out of retirement to train moonpie!!!

EEK!!! few too many bacardi's, I've had to edit!!!

It's the same with Veteran no-limit, who voted that in?  It's never been well supported !!

i myself dont think the big no limit dogs should be racing

until after 12 months, let them finish developing first ,theres plenty time for racing later on,do they have vet no limit on the bends.

what is the point of yearling no limit- it was voted in because some big BWRA cheese had a big dog that they wanted to win races- so they probabley said-hey lets have yearling puppy no limit(just to accomodate there dog!!!),I agree with neil the big dogs need alot more time, I know with soapy joe(40lb) he did'nt come good till 18mths/2yrs.

I've also ran veteran no-limit which is the same with puppy no-limit----solo city!!!

Alot of these rules only get brought in to please certain people at certain times!!!!

i agree michelle, also what grieves me is that at events the smaller dog owner goes away with an arm full of trophies and the scratch dog gets a brown envelope with a pittance in it, sometimes it is less than what u payed to run COMMITEE NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND TREAT ALL DOGS FAIRLY :(
