January can be pretty miserable after the enjoyment (or not for some) of the festive period!

Have you got anything exciting to look forward to? Anything that you really want to do this year?

Our aim this year is to try and visit and stay at as many places on our directory as possible! Just where to start first......

A new job hopefully! I need a change ;) Looking forward to the summer for lots of glorious biking, in the meantime, a few hurricane free days will do.

Moving to a warmer country before Brexit, hopefully this year. Can't stand another English winter, both me and OH have been sick for two weeks and not right yet. OH develops a really bad cough often now.

Oh wow good luck @arealhuman - I hope a good change comes your way! Oh summer how I miss you....

Where are you hoping to move to, @doggie1? Or is it a case of 'anywhere but Britain'?

We're not planning any holidays while the cat is still with us - he'll be 20 in a month and very frail. But I am planning to launch what may be the first ever dog activity library, aimed at dogs on temporary crate rest or limited exercise. At least, the insurance guy I spoke to (to cover against getting sued if a dog somehow injures itself on a toy or reacts to a cleaning product or such like) had never heard of one before!

Oh yes @doggie1 please let us know what hot country awaits you, so we can dream that we may one day live on a nice hot beach!

Oh yes @JudyN I remember from your last post. I think that's such a great idea! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help once it gets going :)

Thank you @Josie, I will:) Once I find out what the insurance will cost (assuming it's not so expensive it makes it unviable), I need to create a poster and a website. I know someone with graphic experience who has offered to help, but if anyone did happen to be a dab hand at creating simple logos that could be included, that is something I'll be needing.

We did lived in Spain for a while but OH didn't like it as the dogs were constantly barking!!! So we are going to go to Portugal. I'm trying to find a book or something to learn the language, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get one. W H Smiths have nothing the library has nothing. I was learning on a free online course until I found out it was Brazilian Portuguese, it is different.

OH had a chest x ray before he got 'flu and bronchitis, he received a letter yesterday saying that he had to go to the GP surgery to discuss it. We are both a bit worried now. his appointment is not for nearly two weeks. they say he's not dying, but it is still a worry.

I hope his appointment brings good news and the results don't interfere with your plan, @doggie1.
