I wonder if you are willing to share your dog's 'dinner' ideas with me. I'm thinking of a possible continuous thread of daily plans that could possibly help some of us who get 'stuck' to same ideas too often and when you have 'funny' eaters like mine that point blankly refuse to eat same food more than couple of days in a run. Though ours have few exceptions to that rule, but they are not allowed to live with those dinners on every day basis:rolleyes:

Today our girls had their usual rich tea biccie to get them started, a chew and bit of yogurt and egg yolk mix.
For dinner they will get minced beef and chicken wings and if I am still up to it and fancy cooking, for 'afters' they will get piece of their favourite food EVER = yorkshire pudding  If I get all that down to their 'gullets', it will give them and me quiet night as happy tummies will hopefully knock them out for few hours...at least...if the owls and foxes etc. will stay quiet. Maybe they will need the same dinner too

I'm in awe of your meal plans, Finsky - I detest meal planning for the humans in the household, let alone Jasper! But here's his menu for the day:

Breakfast: 500g mince, with his anti-inflammatory meds and half a paracetamol. I'm not sure what the mince is, but it will be a mixture of chicken with something like oily fish, liver, offal, heart, duck... Tea tonight is one chicken carcasse, some pre-minced tripe, a quail egg, a couple of frozen veggie nuggests, 6 YuMove Plus and 3 YuDigest tablets. Other nights, instead of the tripe he gets more random mince instead of the tripe. Occasionally he'll get a can of sardines with his tea, but I can't find them locally at a sensible price.

Treats - sorry, reinforcement aids ;) - are mostly grain-free kibble, with a selection of sausage, old pizza crusts, or whatever else comes to hand when something high value is called for. Oh, and he'll get leftovers from our tea after we've eaten, plus greasy trays to preclean - sometimes we have to limit the amounts if there's too much to be good for his digestion or it's really spicy/oniony, other times, if we've pretty much cleared our plates, we'll have to add a bit of something so he doesn't feel hard done by...

Ah well 'a plan' does sound rather organized, and I'm not. Girls get what is in the fridge or I have remembered taken out of freezer, though I admit making more effort our dogs food intake than ours...we often end up eating what we find being easiest at the time. And neither is our dogs strangers for our left overs, when ever those are sensible enough for their wellbeing...better than waste it ;)

Mine have every morning after their walk a frozen chicken foot and a frozen whole mackerel each , nothing for dinner, tea is a thawed turkey neck each, a half chicken carcass each and a bit of mince beef . They have once a week tea time meal of minced trip and pulped veg and fruit. My wife always gives them a malted milk biscuit as a treat in the evenings.

Mine is so hard done by compared to all yours.

Walkies rewards as needed - some form of home-made healthy dog biscuit (not made by me) that is pocket-friendly. After-walk raw chicken wing, Mr. H's toast crust, half a charcoal biscuit, 4 Verm-X.

Evening meal - today is raw venison in a lump for chewing. Half a charcoal biscuit. Small piece of raw venison rib. Last thing half a different biscuit.

A certain amount of pre-wash of plates and saucepans as needed.

Food varies but is almost all raw except for hearty game and vegetable casserole on cold days. We get a lot of game.

Feel like my dog is also hard done by.
This morning she had a few treats during walkies - Soopa 100% coconut treats and Fresco dog rabbit training bones.
Breakfast was her kibble soaked in water with added chopped carrot, blueberries and cooked chicken, plus her golden paste and meds: apoquel and yumove.
I dare say while I'm at work she'll get a few treats from someone's plate which I don't agree with - she gets no plates to lick, nothing from mine or OH's plates
At lunchtime she'll have a Whimzees chew.
For dinner she'll have her wet food in her frozen Kong which I seal closed with peanut butter and stick a few sprats into before freezing. Then she'll have her evening supplements in her bowl with some sort of veg and either some sardines, chicken or freeze dried salmon chunks added.
Then of course she has her bedtime biscuit which at the moment is Lily's Kitchen bedtime biscuits. I basically feed her the dog food she's on and then just add in whatever I fancy/whatever I have spare in the fridge to make it more interesting and varied for her :)

Oh dear. Poor Timber.

He has had a handful of Platinum kibble, half of it for doing good things on our morning walk (positioning himself between my feet on the path if a bike is approaching, or doing an emergency stop if that wasn't practical).

He is having a turmeric sausage and a dried fish skin now.

He will get more kibble later.

He wants to go and live with any of you, you all feed better than I do.

Awww Timber, I bet he's nice and slim though?
I would love to give her kibble as treats but couldn't have the biscuits in my pockets with what she's on at the moment it smells so bad because it's a turkey and trout one and it stinks...seriously I have her bag of food rolled up and clipped shut and shut away in her food bin and I can still sometimes smell it when I'm near the container

Good grief, am I starving our whippet by comparison? For breakfast she’ll have 125g raw complete followed by one Good Boy chicken twist (chicken stick) and a lick of Kefir. During her walk she’ll get a few Smartie size dried meat treats plus one dry chicken foot. For lunch she’ll have another chicken stick. Her afternoon meal will be 125g raw complete followed by 25g of a Lily’s Kitchen Woofbrush chew which she has to find as it’s hidden somewhere in the drawing room - she’s never failed to locate it and always has a victory run before she settles to eat it. That’s the main part of her food regime. She’ll get tiny bits and pieces from us as we’re eating or a small hide chew. BUT THAT’S IT. She hovers around 15kg. I appreciate that Jasper’s twice her weight but, pro rata, she’s getting nowhere near his amount. JudyN, you give him a whole chicken carcass? A roast chicken lasts us (wife and me) 2 meals plus bits for Mabel (treats) and breakfast for George (cat). Mabel gets one walk each day - anything between 2 and 5 miles on which she’ll have a run (sprint) with other dogs. Should I be doing anything different food wise? Yours in confusion.

It's not a whole chicken, though I'm sure Jasper would have a good attempt at finishing one off! It's what my raw supplier sells as carcasses - basically what's left after the head, legs, wings, breasts and any other important bits I've forgotten have been removed: 40 Individually wrapped Chicken Carcass

In terms of total quantity of meat, though, he's still getting going on for a kilo a day, and is the right weight for him. My friend's saluki x greyhound gets about a third of that despite being almost as large, and if anything is a bit broad in the beam. But then a raw-fed dog is meant to need 2-3% of their bodyweight in meat a day, and Jasper does fall in that range.

It just goes to show, you can only ever feed the dog in front of you. Though it would work out a lot cheaper if I could feed someone else's dog instead!

Do you take in paying guests?

Crikey hope Aggie never reads this thread :D She is very prone to liquid shite so we tend to stick to the same brand kibble (but rotating flavour/protein) with a bit of wet as a topper and then give the variation in bits and bobs around that.

She has half her morning kibble (currently wild boar and pumpkin, next up is a fishy one I think ) with plain yoghurt before morning walk, the rest with a bit of butchers grain free square tin mashed up into a couple of kongs once we’re back.

Tea is more kibble with butchers, maybe a bit of grated carrot or other veg from human cooking. sometimes we mix it up and give another wet food e.g. just finished a forthglade turkey dinner over several days.

On walks she still gets some kind of food reward most times she comes back to us or waits(got to keep that sighthound brain interested in recall somehow!!). We Mix these up, either proper training treats or bits of ham/cheese/ blueberries etc, but always grain free for her stomach. Our local pet shop does some chicken and turmeric which are Top treat at the moment. I also have a sample pack of fish4dogs kibble which I am very slowly dispensing via the treat bag.

She usually gets a soopa dentastick or a few gravy bones at bedtime. After a long walk she gets a boiled egg. If I am having fish she gets the skin, if I am roasting sweet potatoes I put on a few extra slices for her, and she’s always happy to hoover up a bit of spare rice. She used to love bananas, apple and especially pear but was off her food while the in laws and their dogs stayed, and she’s not been keen on most fruit since. Still loves wild raspberries on a walk though!

I have to carry the kibble in a bag - I can't carry it loose as it is a bit smelly too. We went for a meal last night and he did get some scraps of Mr F's steak so he ended up not doing too badly.

Ronnie is very jealous of all of your dogs meals:)
Ronnie gets 20g of Purina HA wet and 115g of the Purina HA for his 4 meals:(
His treats consist of 1 piece of Soopa raw coconut 4 x daily apart from this food he gets nothing else to eat:(
This is what happens when your pup has IBD:(

Breakfast - 1/3 Kg raw beef tripe with bone
Lunch - raw egg with shell
Dinner - 1/3 Kg raw minced chicken with offal and bone
Supper - tiny pieces of roast chicken (for which he must perform)

This is a normal day. Yesterday was not - he supplemented his diet with a blackbird delivered by the cat. Later on his forest walk he had deer guts and a chew on the head on the way in, then deer guts and a chew on a leg on the way back.

Lol....even some of you sound little astonished of the foods provided by others, reading your posts there is all those numerous little additions that do amount to quite a variety in your dogs diet :D They are not left short of 'things' for sure ;)

Well...our girls polished of last piece of the yorkshire pud for their breakkie and helped OH to get through his toasts  That was topped up with a chew and they are now sorted until afternoon when they are getting their dinner of raw mince of some description. As we are having some stewed steak for ours...girls are having some of that as little addition on top of their mince to wet their appetite for the boring stuff. Not to forget some carrot or sweet potato too ;)

Our lot will probably have a deer trachea with voice box included, some will have the cluster of pipes that go down into the lungs and heart if I cut them right.
"Titch" struggles with all of these at the moment but gets loads of pleasure from them.
Titch has already had a breakfast of minced lung, liver, heart, kidney and tripe this morning.
All of the others sat around her watching and waiting for any possible leftovers but I am afraid to say that was just wishful thinking.
