Hi

does anyone know of anyone who breeds this type of terrier? I would also like to find a breeder of the plummer terrier,

Cheers

Fordi

If you go onto, say, champdogs or pedigree dogs .co.uk (not sure of actual address) and put in a search for Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, should bring some breeders up.

Discussions about working wheatens come up on the Hunting Life forum fairly regularly - maybe someone on there could help?

HiTo be honest I was interested in finding the smaller working strain of the Wheaton and to find out what they were like? has for crossing with a border it was something I was thinking of to try and take some aggression out of the Wheaton but not the gameness, has they can be quite aggressive with other dogs and the border is the most placid dog of all. I have only kept jack Russell's and will be buying a bitch plummer terrier has my own terrier is 17 now but I do like looking out for different breeds and crosses and am always prepared to listen to other peoples views.

Have PM'd you - hope it arrives as it hasn't registered in the 'sent' box

We've just been given details of a 10 month old bitch who we believe is a working wheaten with something else in there too - the jury is still out as to exactly what!!!

Thank you to everyone for their help it was most appreciated. I have bought a young border pup from a sound working family and I pick her up in Weeks.

Good choice Fordi  Borders are sound little dogs and most are steady workers, what is her breeding and where from? My bitch is from show lines both hated the show ring now spend are afternoons mooching these days, never worked her below ground but keen on everything above and quite pleased with her bushing skills, post some photos when you get her mate and good luck with her :luck:

Hey my friend what a good looking dog I know you will get it conditioned and just a little teeny bit more weight on it and girl you got a terrier. I got a parson in fact had um all my life and its been a bit of a shitter going over to a border but I know from experience that these little borders can hunt plus the wife likes the idea of no white hairs all over the place but you watch she will miss um. hey staffygirl what about we go and do a bit of hunting together in the wilds of Bolton and reduce the rabbit population??
