Hi.

I live near Tamworth Staffordshire. I have recently bought 2 pups - different litters.

My first - Celtic Boy (7months) comes from an OAKBARK/SOOTY SAM line of breed.

My second (12weeks) comes from COPPERHAWK COUNTRY CRACKER/NEARCO HONEY BE AT STARSWIFT line of breed.

My parents owned Maiden Flight a racing whippet (around 30yrs ago). I can remember this beautiful dog winning/gaining entery for some sort of english finals, but at the last minute my parents were unable to travel to the event.

BACK TO MY QUESTION - ramble over.

Where do I find information with regards to show events for whippets. I am interested in attending.

I dont think I could show a dog, I would be more shy than the dog. But I am very interested in attending.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Regards Brian.

Next time I post an add, I should try spell checking first........ :b

Hi Brian

http://www.prodogs.co.uk/

Here is a site showing details of upcoming shows:-

If you want to show, then it's a good idea to find a ringcraft club near you and go along. There will be other people new to showing, and even possibly other whippet people, and members to show you the ropes. Hope this helps a bit.

Jenny

Hi.

I am currently at work - don't let the boss know i'm surfing.........

I will get some pictures off my home computer, and post tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice.

Cheers Brian.

hope the showing goes well. Do you know that there is a small pedigree whippet racing club near you, in Shuttington. You can find info at K9 racing sections and I'm sure you'd be very welcome there next spring, when your pups are older.

Rugely and District canine society has an open show at Fenton Manor sports complex Fenton Stoke on trent on Sept 8th its an all breed show but there are whippet classes and they usually get quite a good entry

Judging starts at 9.30 but there's a coule of breeds in the ring before them.

There's another all breed open show at Staffordshire show ground on Sept 29th

There's a Champ show at Stoneleigh on 29th August - many types of whippet will be there. I expect somewhere around 150+ whippets in total but don't quote me :D

think there is around 225 whippets at Stoneleigh !!!
