Does anyone know where I can buy a pair of padded boots to fit one of my sons

retired greyhounds.

He has a problem with recurring corns and finds the walks difficult on some days.

He is 8 and loves his walks but, on the days when his corns are bad, he is walking like an old

man.

I remember reading on here about someone who had got some padded boots and wondered could

you tell me where I can get some for poor old Jim Doe.

Thanks

Karen

www.mppetsupply.com have dog boots but they are in America but they do international shipping on certain items or you could try ebay

I got an e-mail recently from a company www.canine-spirit.com (sorry, don't know how to create a link - i'm a bit thick about things like that!) They do various boots for dogs and I'm sure are UK based. Hope it helps.

Thank you both.

I will check them out. It never occurred to me to try ebay - Duh!

not boots I know but Badger my whippet has three corns, two on one front foot and one on the other....I put human corn plasters on each affected toe , held in place with a strip of elastoplast tape, they stay in place for a couple of days and sometimes i'll put two corn plasters one on top of the other...the corns tend to soften a bit and i can then cut the heads out carefully and he can get upto two weeks freedom from discomfort until they return....he hates boots so plasters are easier for us both...he's too old to put through surgery now anyway.

hope that helps.

Many years ago I had a Greyhound that suffered badly with corns we used to get Tablets fron the health shop, don't ask me the name of them they were good and a lot kinder than digging them out, as for boots they sell them in Pets at home.

I answered on the other thread, but in case you don't see it these are the best boots I've found for mys Jess (who has terrible corns), they are really padded and hard-wearing.

I'd definitely avoid the Mikki boots, which are ones a lot of petshops have, they don't stay on properly and the soles wear through really quickly.

Give Sue Ward a ring on 01264 781782, (Venture Coats). She makes protective boots for greyhounds which are used by trainers. Might be able to help.

the Mikki boots I found userful for putting over a foot which was heavily bandaged. After the splint was removed, I tried Therapaw and some similar boots from http://www.canineconcepts.co.uk but I couldn't get any of these boots to stay on mu dog's paw.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

Jim has always suffered from corns and has had them surgically removed twice but they keep on returning.

I will try the human corn plasters (perhaps under a boot) - I know they always do the trick for me.

He will soon have the spring back in his step!

(Ooops, I posted this topic twice. My connection is really bad these past few days and I thought the first one

hadn't posted)

caninechemistdirect.cu.uk is a great on line store think they are based in North Yorkshire
