Regarding the boys has anyone had any experience of them displaying 'overt'sexual behaviour  like peeing inside the house and trying to 'mate' the furniture?    :(

I can't say I've ever heard of anyone having this problem with a whippet (although I know of an ESS with a similar problem). Having a dog who has at times been a little oversexed, I've never had a problem with the things you mention; he will drool :x a little if he's smelled something nice, and sometimes gets a little overexcited in his dreams :b but has always been immaculate where he chooses to pee (not counting his attrocious aim).

I'm not being funny or anything, just that we had a cocker spaniel before who had some problems and I wondered if it was likely to be a problem with a whippet dog!

Thanks

My dog Frankie, did a bit of peeing in the house (no more than a handful of times). At about 9 months he went through a teenage phase, marking his territory. No mating the furniture, just tried it on with my two bitches rather a lot. :b :) He seems to have got over the hormone rush now and has stopped the scent marking. Not a big problem and definitely won't put me off whippet boys.

Ive 7 girls and 3 boys (w00t) , and I would go for boys any time , Harvee, Montee and Woody cant get close enough to me at night , real mummies boys thats for sure , As for humping. Ive never had a whippet hump the furniture and the only accident in the house are if I have a bitch i season , and as you will only be having the one :- " shouldnt be a problem ,

And my boys have NEVER we`ed up them selves :x my plants maybe

What ever you chose ,good luck and we need to see lots of pics , :huggles:
