No Offence to Christine Cormany Lida, but I wouldn't bother with her book if I were you. I have a copy. It is the very first whippet book I ever bought. It is the standard breed book that you buy in pet shops. You know the one with a couple of chapters devoted to the breed on the front cover, and the rest of the book is your basic how to stuff.

Thanks, I know the ones you mean ; I never give them second look, that is why the name did not mean anything to me.

We have E. Fitch Daglish`s "Whippets" A Foyles Handbook 1964, reprinted 1972 and revised edition 1980 with some excellent chapters "Ideal Conformation" "Structure and Movement" " Colour Breeding" etc. Didn`t find Christine Cormany`s book much bottle as my father used to say. Regards, Stephen

Don't know who he is Lida, but I often see that book on Ebay

I should have said that E.Fitch Daglish`s book was revised by Monica Boggia who, I understand, is a well known judge. These two authors can be investigated on GOOGLE. Regards, Stephen

"The whippet" by JP Healy is one of the best i've found so far...............

Whippet by Juliette Cunliffe is not a bad book.Had to say that really as on page 97 is a photo of my dog Casper and his litter brother Troy. This photo was taken at Southern Counties dog show where the boys got 1st and 2nd in puppy dog under Shirley Rawlings. It was really emotional to see this photo as both these dogs died tragically young(4 and5).I don't know how it came to be published in this book but it is a lovely keepsake.

Thanks everyone, i thought i found a hidden tressure of Whippet books :b :D . You probably can get all of them them over in UK .

I only have the Bo Bengsten, Moran-Healley and Peggy Gilmore books, and thought I could expand my library.

I have not been able post links here anymore (does not matter what i do they just do not work) or i would have posted it . But you can always google it, this online bookshop is called Dogwise. They have several good books as well as the fantastic ; "Gazehounds,The Search for Truth by Constance O.Miller, which is all about correct anatomy of sighthounds.

Being a forever optimistic here is the link, just in case it does work this time.

If you are looking to expand your libaray Lida, then you should definitely add The English Whippet, by Mary Lowe. Would also think about Whippets by Shirley Rawlings.

If we come on Sunday, I will bring my copy's so you can have a look first. Chances are that we probably won't make it though :( A shame because we would like Beau to have his first run.
