There's no guarantee what overall size will be, but the standard for bitches is nowhere near 20+in so I doubt you'll get what you're after. Why are you looking for one so large? If you want one that size go for a male?

Well perhaps you should be looking for a whippet cross or lurcher as any breeder respectful of whippets shouldn't be breeding in the hopes bitches would make at least 20".

How on earth a couple of inches would make a better working whippet confuses me, you are better off looking for whippets temperament, how biddable they are and whether their sire and dam are good workers.

Also when coursing was legal, the height restriction was very strict and they had to be under 20" - so no not all working type whippets are large

if you read my other topics you would find that u have a (bedlington x whippet) a (grayhound x whippet) so i got the x's i need thank you..

temperament? wtf whats that got to do with it ? you dont buy a dog thats already perfect as far as temperament is concernd (thats up tp the owner) same has sire and dam some people say its good to have working parents and i would agree to a certain extent. but like i say its up the the owner to make sumthing of that pup.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Also when coursing was legal, the height restriction was very strict and they had to be under 20" ????????????????????

whats that got to do with me ? i'm after a pup that will make my requirments not other peoples

and if your puzzled as to how size matters..you wach a 15" dog run to a 20" that will explain it all

(w00t) (w00t) Temperament is completely down to the owner is it?  Well thats the old nature v nurture debate settled

I was trying to explain to you as you asked in your earlier post 'would i be rite in saying a working breed whippet is the larger of the two breeds ?' that not all working dogs are over 20" and for that matter not all show are under 20". By the way they are NOT '2 breeds' - the whippet is still 1 breed, but you do get varying 'types' within the breed

At the end of the day the whippet breed should not produce a bitches that are 20" - occasionally this happens but it is certainly not what any decent breeder would want for our breed.
