hi!

well.... i have looked all over the net for clothes. i have found quite a bit, but very little is to my liking... i know... im like some kinda fashion snob. im quite picky and a lot of the designs are for me kitch... i'm probably not your average pet owner trying to dress up my doog for winter. so my tastes are really different. i especially dont like their choises of materials and the patterns and colors found on the material.

so... maybe someone has design/pattern/directions for making your own whippet coats, slickers, etc? i am kinda handy in sewing so i would love to take a stab at it. i was quite successful 2 days ago making a sweater! but would really love to make by pattern an therefor get to sew it up on a machine instead of by hand. also... if someone knows of a whippet clothes maker in mainland europe or uk that has cool styles and materials and/or lets you pick the material/color from a large selection, then please give me their site. also i will be wanting to get some racing jacket thingies (i forgot what they are called) with numbers .. or to make my own.. so ay info about patterns for those, or who makes nice ones... please let me know. thanks...

have a look in FAQ, I think there might be a thread there that could help

You've probably checked this out already, but I've recently posted a question about coats and got loads of helpful replies:

Coat advice for a new whippy owner

Let us know how you get on, and if you find any interesting websites on your search!

If you can knit there are a few patterns for dog sweaters out there; if you put a search up on eBay I'm sure you'll find a few, although they can be quite pricey. I'm trying to adapt some patterns I've found, and would be happy to share when I've worked it out, but I'm not really up to knitting at the moment >_<

My friend Christel at Cottage Hound Designs in the States makes the most wonderful whippet wears.

Whippet Jammies out of Jersey and flannel

Whippet sweatshirts out of Jersey and fleece

and Whippet GIRL shortie jackets out of jersey and cotton

JR Whippet Rescue bought some from her to sell over here, and Christel also added to their order by donating the same again! They are excellent quality, my girls LOVE them. The jammies are really nice for autumn, sweatshirts for fall, and my girls use the shortie jackets for 'car coats' in the summer.

I delivered them to Whippet Rescue yesterday and they will have them at the show next week in Haddenham.

If you're looking for something really good, these are IT!

I know a lot of people have admired the ones on my girls, but haven't wanted to order from the States, so here's your opportunity to have them.

If they sell well Rescue will get more in.
