I have been asked by a breed council member to put on the forums that the whippet health survey has been suspended until further notice

May I enquire as to why?

Thats a shame ...... I filled it in for all of my lot, though think it could have been more in depth as just because I race mine they also do other things, and there was no multiple choice answer for this, plus it doesn't ask how they are bred so won't be able to narrow down the "problem" lines and determine which line, type of Whippet is prone to which problem, illness etc ....

May be that's why they have suspended it. I looked at and thought it's a bit vague, not enough depth to it. No doubt they will re-think it.

i wasnt referring to your post Hannah .....more a general observation

Your post was a valid one which we will try to rectify....if not possible it dosnt really affect the health issues but it has been taken on board

The reason it has been suspended is because the paper/ form available for completing WAS NOT the one agreed by the breed council

persons have taken it upon themselves to submit it to the public .

" Persons" would be all the Health officers, appointed by their clubs and directed to distribute the survey to our members by our Health Co-ordinator

I was at the meeting, it was agreed that the survey should be altered and then should have been presented back to the BC for approval. This has not happened nor has the survey been changed.

That is completely uncalled for ,

We are NOT PIckering . but stating facts .

If you want a breed survey done as specifid by the Breed council ,( these are whippet folk who travel hundreds of miles with no recompence for milage etc , in their own time ) then it should be done correctly dont you think ?

I think you fail to understand , we are all passionate about our breed .
