Whippet House Sign

Nicola said:
I thought ours was old...built in the 1880's or thereabouts. The old stone walls are fab in the summer. When it's really hot outside the walls keep the house lovely and cool inside.
 Love that sign - we might get one for our house. Agree, your house is very old. Like Nicola we thought we lived in an old house and ours was built round about 1840. And yes, the stone walls keep the heat out in the summer, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work the other way in the winter!

That is gorgeous! I would love one, I might challenge Lloyd to make one (w00t)

Your plaque is very beautiful BUT i just wanted to say please be very careful as i took mine down when i had certain people calling to my door after seeing it whilst passing, asking if i had any dogs to sell, then later that night trying to climb into my back garden.

I never advertise in any way that i have sighthounds just incase, as you never know who is going to see it.

Just a thought & i'm sure its just me being paranoid so please dont take this the wrong way. Its lovely

oh no thats terrible and no ...no offence taken...thanks for the advice nina...i had not thought of that actually....to be honest i live in a bungalow and all my neighbours are over 80yrs old  and nobody ever walks past my house....my road kind of goes nowhere in particular so hopefully i should be ok? :luck:

whitecross has always been the name of my house but it used to be written just on an ordinary plaque so for the locals i dont think they will think much of it....but it was something i had not thought of for any passers by  ...fingers crossed people will know its just a house name and i wont be saying on k9 in a few weeks that i am sick of people asking me if i sell whippets

(although if they had called today they could have had gypsy cos she has chewed through my hall carpet!   )

I'm sure you wont & thank you for not taking offence. You sound like you are in a nice quiet location so hopefully no one untoward will spot it.

Really looks fab & am sure you are very proud of it :luck:

Was just about to say the same thing  Our house was built in 1890s, lovely and cool in the summer, especially the cellar :) Bloody freezing in the winter
